Anyone with personal experience? This seems the only wick option from a substance that has been burned for hundreds of years. Input is appreciated. I would be double boiling, but hemp does not Harbor the same organisms as cotton.
I usually try not to burn my wicks. Some people really love hemp though, I've heard the basic degummed fibers are the best. Never tried it though because I've also heard there's a woody taste you have to get past.
I have no plans to burn the wick, but it seems it has been tested more than cotton, silica, rayon... I'll give it a go and see if there is indeed a "flavor" to it. Cotton would be my next choice as I read a lot of good things about it. Also keen on trying a bamboo option.
