Let me just start off by saying i lurk way more than i post but for the life of me i cannot figure this one out......

I bought an origin from 101 vape about two weeks ago along with (2) efest 18650 2500Mah 35Amp batteries (the new purple ones). everything worked great for about the first week and recently the firing button is getting very very hot. not the whole button either but just the little part in the center that you can spin to adjust the pin. Now i have tried countless remedies I've found for other mods and the same problem but i cant find anything specific to the origin. so here is what i have tried....

- Taken everything apart soak in water cleaned with alcohol
- tried 3 different RDAs (Igo-L, Nimbus, Patriot) each time checking them on my ohm meter for shorts.
- Sanded both contacts positive and negative
- used multi meter to check volts on mech itself (postive pin to body) 0v standing 3.xx to 4.xx under load.

It gets hotter faster the lower ohm i go but i try to stay in the .9 to 1.1 range. All the while the battery never gets hot! it just doesn't make sense..... anyone out there possibly have any guidance for me?

Well the problem is definitely in the switch somewhere. my DMM shows 1.6 touching pos and neg together and 2.4 when testing the pin and housing on the switch... clean it put it back together multiple meter goes back to 1.6. put mod back together fire it a few times switch gets hot take it apart and the damn thing reads 2.4 again.

It will stand with three magnets. Tried two and it it won't. Also didn't not help the switch damn near burning my finger, lol.

Don't quite get it. Seems that the screw in negative post is my issue. If I take it out and test the ohms between the opening where the post goes in and the outside I show no ohms. With the post in is where I read something for ohms.

So after taking this to a local B&M and interchanging parts with a HCigar clone (mine is EHPro) we determined it was definitely in the negative firing pin. seems as if the threading for the pin was done poorly and a bit of Noalox in the threads has fixed the problem. I've been running my .5 Ohm dual coil driipper on it for 3 days and the button has not gotten hot at all. Previously this setup would get the button hot enough to burn you after just a few vapes.

OK! I can't speak for the clones, since I have an original. But I think I've found the hot button issues fix. There are 2 issues at hand here.
#1 When the coils are getting old they are requiring massive power to heat them. Thus......crappy ignition and a hot button! This one was pretty simple. But I thought I'd point it out any way. :p

#2 This one took a little more digging and was the problem with, MY, hot button but may not be the case with yours. My Origin is still pretty new. I was surprised upon complete disassembly of the button to find gunk build up and carbon/surface corrosion at virtually EVERY contact point:( After cleaning the gunk with contact cleaner (I used NitroForce cleaner that I use for my nitro RC cars) and used 800 wet or dry sand paper for the corrosion. Reassembled every thing and it works great now!

I was getting really frustrated for the last few weeks. I knew the hot button was an issue on these and have been searching constantly to find a solution, with none to be found! For reference my button is the magnate style, not the spring. The base still gets warm/VERY WARM but the button is no longer scorching my pinky:vapor: Vape on dudes!
