We adopted two red-eared sliders from my daughter's preschool when the person who cared for them left. We soon had to buy a larger tank, a whole filtration system, rocks, a heat lamp, and other things. By the time we finally turned them over to a local facility that handles larger reptiles, two years later, we were cleaning the entire tank and changing the water once a week. But the kids thought they were fun. So long, Yertle and Mack!#2 - 9/13
They banned the sales of the little red-eared sliders under 4"... and they will actually grow to the size of the container they are kept in, plus can live for 20-30+ yrs..... but not many survived in these little bowls!!
