I am glad my post was interesting to many people Irish is another of my favorite cultures........I also relate to Scathatch.....with the Ulster Cycle of Irish mythology. She is a legendary Scottish warrior woman and martial arts teacher who trains the legendary Ulster hero Cú Chulainn in the arts of combat. Texts describe her homeland as Scotland (Alpae); she is especially associated with the Isle of Skye, where her residence Dún Scáith, or "Dun Sgathaich" (Fortress of Shadows), stands. She is called "the Shadow" and "Warrior Maid" and is the rival and sister of Aífe, both daughters of Árd-Greimne of Lethra.

The French is another one that is interesting....And yes it comes closer to home when you see what they did to Canada(mostly Quebec) and there has been so much tension between them...Oui....Oui madames et monsieurs...very interesting......(how about some water with that beer? or some vinegar on those chips?)

The culture of the Byzantine Empire is also of interest to me. The "other" half of the divided Roman Empire, the Byzantine Empire lasted for nearly 1,000 years following the fall of Rome. During that time, they carried on some of the Roman traditions, grew their branch of Christianity, traded with the peoples to their east, built created marvels of architecture and art, fiercely followed the races at the Hippodrome, and were sacked by fellow Christians during an errant crusade.

Okay with all these near naked and half clad Women being posted to represent specific cultures - I really should start posting about some more about the near naked half clad dressed MEN in Culture too, but then again I wouldn't want that to be the only reason or thing that would interest others in learning more about those areas and the cultures themselves . . .

SO - Just one of "My" Favorite pictures (That I also use it as an Avatar on occasion) about Greek/Roman Mythology that intrigues "ME" . . .
