This was my favorite Christmas gift ever when I was a little girl. I loved Baby Chrissy, and so did my mom. I would dress her for the day before I went to school and when I got home she would be in a completely different outfit because my mom had redressed her.

I cannot smell a Glade Apple and Cinnamon candle without immediately thinking of Christmas. For many years, when my kids were younger and even up to now, that particular scent has signaled the arrival of the Christmas season in my home. I have many holiday scented candles, but that particular one brings back all the best memories.

Christmas in San Diego is often sunny and dry (and sometimes even warm) which leads to great, glassy conditions. Add that to a nice winter swell..! Winter break was often spent in the water...

Of course, sunshine was not everything that it was cracked up to be. Our tree picked up sunlight through our floor-to-ceiling windows, which meant that the year I talked my mom into hanging chocolate ornaments turned into a big mess.

My Mom, now 85, hand made most of our gifts. She always made a Christmas ornament for each of us. When the grandkids came along, they received one, too, until age 18. I still have most of mine, what a treasure to go through each Christmas! Thanks, Mom.
