One of my favorite Christmas traditions growing up was to go with my Dad on Christmas afternoon and visit family friends. My Mom made homemade tamales and Christmas afternoon my Dad and I would visit family friends and deliver them. There was one family in particular, I always looked forward to seeing, the DeVasse's. She made the most delicious Italian Wedding Cookies, I'd stuff myself silly on those things and they always made sure we had plenty to take home too.

Every year the Sunday before Christmas was the gathering of mom's side of the family for a big lunch/dinner then exchange gifts.

Was always up early Christmas morning - could get what was in the stockings but had to wait til mom and dad were up to start on the on the stuff under the tree.

Years ago me and my fishing buddy, decided to meet up late Christmas morning to go to the lake and try out our new Christmas fishing gear for a few hours. On the way to the lake, we were talking about how nice it would be to have the lake to ourselves. Who else would be out on the lake Christmas morning? The first 30-45 minutes was nice and peaceful, no one around, catching a few fish...... Then there were one or two boats, then came the water skiers......water skiers on Christmas morning. There was even a couple of barefoot skiers out as well.......

One Christmas, my school class did a play based on the Nutcracker. I was cast as the toy-maker--one of the few characters with an actual speaking part. Apparently, no one told me to project my voice, so my entire performance became a giant pantomime.
