Thanks Redd & Eric for the GREAT Contests!
This was the 60's too, with a lot of style & class, before the Hippies & Dippies came along!
I was there, being born in the Motor City & all, I saw the start of Motown!
Little Stevie Wonder was a big part of Motown, even as a kid! I heard a story that at 12, he could play every instrument except 3 & he's blind!
The Funk Brothers were the Sound & Backbone of all the great Motown Artists! You can here that music sound in all the songs & I think that's what made the Stars Great but they never got the credit that they truly deserve & I don't think some would've been so great without them, they really made the Motown Sound!
From the excellent movie/documentary, "Standing in the Shadows of Motown". The Funk Brothers, the session musicians featured in this documentary, has played in more #1 hits than the The Beatles, Elvis Presley, The Rolling Stones, and The Beach Boys combined. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Funk...
Later in the video, "Ain't Too Proud to Beg" - Funk Brothers and Ben Harper
