HEY! That's me, I started out as a gas station attendant at 15 years old...those were the days and when we heard that someday they'd have self service pumps, we said no way!!! I mean how would they even pay for the gas, let alone pump it by themselves, without having an attendant there? We were full service back then, check the oil, tires, etc and clean the windows of course...plus we did the oil changes, brake jobs, etc, all of it right there at the gas station, full service with a smile and we had the highest gas prices around and that was 36.9cents for premium & anywhere from 12 to 25 cents for regular! :pop:

OK! I know y'all probably don't want to hear all of my old time remarks but I can't help it when I see things like this! Cards in the spokes were the coolest but even cooler was to blow up balloons & tie each end to the frame & have them rub up against the spokes...sounded like a hot rod motorcycle! You could even fine tune these for sound, by having more or less air & you could adjust the pressure against the spokes to make them last longer! When one would blow out Bam! Sounded like you blew the engine...some of the neighbors didn't like this much!!! Oh and it helped to have a big bag of balloons on hand too!!!

I would take an empty bleach bottle, cut out a piece, and use that like green describes. Lasts much longer than cardboard. ;)
