Why not? Personal preferences I'm sure but do you remember where you had it (even though it was 10+ years ago)? There's only two or three places in the City that I like pizza from.

Went there 10+ years ago for a hospice convention...it was a neat city, but I did not care for the deep dish pizza!

I don't remember, but it was too rich for me...the few bites I had tasted good but I couldn't eat more than a 2-3 bites.

We've all seen the chicago vs ny pizza wars on tv. I cannot stand deep dish either ,i can take about 4-5 bites and i'm done .
Its my mission in life to go to the old school ny pizza places as well as have philly cheese steaks at both famous places .
Theres an old school place in redwood city that has em as good as ive ever tasted here as well as great 100% beef hot dogs any way you want em that are the best ive tasted in cali anywhere .
And i'll take a good french dip anyday .Its all in what your used to i think .

I live here and I agree. I like east coast style pizza that you can pick up in your hand, fold it if you want to, and eat it.......with a crust that's slightly crispy but also chewy. The Chicago- style pizza is like bread dough with two pounds of ingredients on it and a fork is a must. But, it has loads and loads of dedicated fans, for sure!

.....and waylon, a new place just opened up that supposedly sells authentic Philly cheesesteaks (in spite of the popularity of the Italian beef) and I cannot wait to get some of that.

Let me know where that place is. Like I've mentioned elsewhere, I'm 300lbs so all the extra stuff on a pizza is a must :D

The one thing I miss about visiting both coasts is the seafood. Chicago is great...but not for seafood. Lobster and shellfish in Boston! Fresh fish in Cali. I loved it so much.

I heard on the radio a debate over the best BBQ in the country, it was between KC and Memphis...EleanorR your thoughts?

It just occurred to me last night how dreadfully I will miss Kansas City barbeque . . . OTOH, getting back to the land of FRESH seafood (with lotsa grouper, red snapper, and stone crab!) will probably console me plenty. :D

No contest, Kansas City. :) (And I say that as a perfectly impartial non-native! :D)
