SO! This morning I had to run to the credit union to deposit some money. While I waited in line the song "That Thing You Do" came on. I love that song and have history with the movie (I love the movie!!). I knew hearing that song was a sign! A good sign! So I went to work and booked my ticket to Pittsburgh!! WOOHOO!! It's official! I'm going to Pittsburgh in a couple weeks! I'm so excited! I've never been north of the mason-dixon line and I'm finally going to! Plus we have a layover in Philly! So I get to say that I've been there too (even if I'm not going out of the airport)!
AND! For the really great news! Look what I got!!!! I hope the pics come through...

I think we're going to name him Bones :) I love the show and I can see all of his! Some of you may remember a couple months ago when I said that my dh got a lead on a puppy to rescue. Well it was from a backyard breeder that he'd heard about and she wanted $500 per! As most of you know, we really can't do that right now. But he went back this weekend and it turns out that she hasn't been able to get rid of this little runt. The poor thing was covered in fleas and he has sores all over his little body. Not to mention his bones are all poking out his skin! So she gave him to us! I've already emailed our contact at the rescue organization we foster for. Hopefully I will hear back from them and will be able to get him into the program. He's such a little cutie!!! He's really tired today. Not sure if that's because he's had an adventure meeting our other puppies or because he has no energy. But we'll fix him right up and he will be bouncing off the walls in no time :D

I hope everyone else had a great day!

LOL. That's great news. I've lived in short driving distance of PA all my life so it's funny to see someone so excited to go there, but it is very pretty and green this time of year. There are a lot of dog breeders in PA, not sure if it's the closing of mines or many people retiring there and doing their dream hobby business. Good luck with your new furbaby! Let us know how the vaping for the flight and airport thing goes :)

So absolutely adorable!!!! And it was exactly what I was hoping to hear and see....adorable little doggie paws...nom nom nom....could eat him up he's so cute!!!!

And the poor baby.....you and your hubby are stronger than I....I would have had to be escorted off her property....and not quietly either.....I abhor people (term people used lightly here) that treat animals the way this poor baby has been treated....neglect is an ugly ugly thing!!!

now back to the cuteness of him....OMG:hubba::hubba::hubba::wub:

Thanks! I will be sure to let everyone know how it goes. I'm VERY nervous about flying with them. I've been scouring the travel subforum to get all the tips I can! And it's even more nervewracking because my boss is flying with me and he doesn't know I smoked or that I'm using ecigs. He's a Baptist preacher and I don't like being preached at so I've never mentioned it. I hope they don't make me take them out and demonstrate. He will have a conniption! I even considered not bringing them. But I think I have decided to bring them and hope for the best!

But...BUT...I don't see the pics of the puppy. **Sad**

I'm sorry :( Can anyone else see them? I always seem to have issues with posting pics. I also put them on my profile if you want to go there and look at them.

Lol Ms. Keelala! Thanks! Yeah, the dh went alone. I don't know how (or even if) he keeps his cool. We've had several neglected puppies in the few years we've been rescuing/fostering. Harmony was the worst. She came to us at about 6 weeks old. Her stomach was distended she was so malnurished :( Someone thought since she was a puppy all she needed was VitaminD milk and water. Luckily someone knew that we rescue animals and they swiped the puppy from the crazy teenager and brought her to us. It's our little way of giving back.

Great news Ms. Harmony. Don't think you'll have an issue taking them on the flight, the tsa knows what they are, only time you might have an issue is if you're carrying a mod that looks like a pipebomb. Bones is awesome looking. Know you and your dh will get him back to the weight he belongs. If your dh didn't rant, rage, and knock out the women than he's a better person than me.... No dog deserves to be mistreated like that... Have a great trip Ms. Harmony. :)

That's so wonderful, Harmony. I can't see any pictures, but I'm so happy to hear about Bones rescue. I agree with Keela; in fact, I have a magnetic sticker on my car that reads 'Pick one: 1. Be Kind to Animals, 2. Rot in Hell'. I get alot of strange looks, but it's how I feel ;-)

And you won't have any problems with your batteries/carts going thru TSA. Just put all your carts together, and all your batteries together, keep several V4L cards handy, and enjoy your flight. If you have time while you are in the Pittsburgh area, Frank Lloyd Wrights house 'Fallingwater' is just down the road and worth the trip. Check it out: Fallingwater | Home

Thank you for the reassurance Morandir sir! I hope you are right! I will only be bringing my V4L batts (they are the only ones I have) and I'll label the baggy I put them in. So hopefully they just glance at them and keep moving. I'm not brave enough to use them on the plane, so I think I'll be ok there too. It's only 5.5 hours, with a 1 hour layover.

Sorry about that :( I'm hoping some people can see them. I'll post them from Photo Bucket and see if that works. If not, they are on my profile if you want to view them there you can.
