I'm 53 and have seen hundreds of live performances.

Best:
Springsteen and the E-street Band, 3X, best one in 1979. I still have the ticket stub. $5.50:shock: There is nothing that compares to the energy at a Boss concert. RIP Clarence Clemons

Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime

Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes Was absolutely stunning

What say you?

ETA: Most FUN performances were Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, 3X, and Metallica.:headbang:

EETA: Anyone who's seen U2 can just bite me. so jealous.

Nickle Creek, saw them at a small venue, they actually sound better live than they do on the album, I was amazed that was even possible! It was even cooler that Ozzy Osborne's bassist was still playing for them!
Metalica's Re-load tour was awsome as well!
Seen Marylon Manson three times, it's worth going to at least once.
Type-O-Negative, just save the money and stay home!
Lee Greenwood, Ricky Van Shelton, Alabama all in one show, not bad, not what I'd hoped for, I guess it was too hard to set the sound up for all of them to sound good?
Teddy Nugent and .38 Special, I'll never go to another Ted Nugent show again!
Van Hagar OU812, decent show.
A few others I don't recall LOL!

I saw the Rolling Stones back in 1981 in Cleveland,Ohio when I was 29 and I was surprised that there show was just average but right after that I saw the j. Geils band and they were great.

Best "nobodies" I ever saw was Kings X opening for Billy Squier in a small venue here in Charlotte. Rocked my face off!

Ms. Kittypie that's an easy answer for me:

King Diamond House of God tour, with Babylon Whores and Shadows Fall as two of the opening acts. It was the first show he ever played "The Black Horsemen" at (though still not in it's entirety, he wouldn't do that until a few years later on the Deadly Lullabuy's tour).

After that would go ilyAIMY at Dogfish head in Gaithersburg a few years back, first time seeing them.

Third on the list would be a toss up seeing Tool on the Lateralus tour or Nine Inch Nails on the With Teeth tour.

Been lucky enough to say in all the shows I've been to, only had one bad expreience, but the headliner was still great. The Summer Sainitarium tour in 2000 (when Jason Newsted was still with Metallica and they didn't suck so much as they do now). All the opening acts were un-needed. System of a Down were horrible, Korn terrible, Kid Rock and Joe C awful, and that show we got Limp Bizkit instead of Powerman 5000, and let me just say, LB was a nightmare.... Metallica kicked @#$ though. Only wish they had played their best song they ever did, "Mercyful Fate".... :)

You and my DDH would have had a bromance.

Never much cared for concerts (have always hated crowds), but the best ones I (ahem) remember were:

Lou Reed (Richmond, 1984)
Bonnie Raitt (Charlottesville, 1982?)
Bob Dylan (Norfolk Scopes, 1979)

Was surprised at how many live perfomances kinda -- um, you know. Like Neil Young w/ Crazy Horse, the "Rust Never Sleeps" tour (I was expecting him to be awesome! NOPE.)
