Hi,

I just joined the forum and was wondering who else here is from Canada

I'm new to this and am looking for information as to which cigarette to buy and recommended suppliers

I was reading the information on the site for newbies and it looks as though the 510 starter kit may be the way to go

Due to restrictions here in Canada regarding the nicotine e liquid I am also hoping to get some advice as to where I would be able to obtain this

Cheers

Ktel

Thanks

I've made 5 posts so I'll wait until I'm authorized to request the list

I currently smoke around 15 cigarettes per day, Du Maurier or Rothman Special Mild

The suppliers you mention- do they have the nicotine liquid?

cheers

You're welcome.
Canvape is the only one I've mentioned and yes he does sell nic juice BUT you must register to view them. Prolly an eGo style/ class PV would be good for you. Sounds like a crazy question but will this be strictly for quitting smoking OR could you see yourself getting into this a s a hobby. Reason I ask is if a hobbyist you could prolly save some money and skip a step. Does the size of the PV matter?

It would be with a view to quitting smoking

I'm just trying to get up to speed with the different models and what would be best for me to buy starting out, I basically know very little about them , i just started looking into it today

From the information I read it looked as though there are 2 main options a 510 or an eGo and I would be looking for the best place to purchase a starter kit and the nic juice.

Once I get access to the suppliers I'll take it from there

Cheers

Battery Info- 100 mah= 1 hr normal vaping before recharge is needed.
510 is a mini ecig/ cig sized PV- usually about 180- 280 mah BUT 510 can also mean the threading of a PV and is the most common of threading- 808 is the next type of threading. If buying a 510 threaded PV the accessories must be 510 also.

Cig sized, automatic batteries: Volt, Bloog, Smoov- cig sized and battery life is an issue- 808 threading-somewhat limited with the accessories you can use.Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Smokeless Image Electronic Cigarettes - The Future is in your hands Starter Kits from $20- $95. Comes in auto and manual. I chose Smokeless Image as they sell quality products, prolly have the best Customer Service within the industry and have a large and loyal following. With 808 the user is limited to the delivery devices (holds and vaporizes the Juice)

eGo Class/ style, manual push button batteries:
JoyTech eGo fires @ 3.3 volts, SmokTech eGo fires @ 3.7 volts and the Riva/ Kgo fires @ 3.7 volts- come in 650, 900 or 1100 mah depending on the manufacturer- most popular 510 threading/ connection and are manual. I own a Kgo and I LOVE it. Have used the JoyTech eGo and prefer the Kgo because of the higher voltage.
eGo Starter Kit cost anywhere from $50- $80.
Riva/ Kgo starter kit costs about $40-$50:

Mini Variable Volt PV: 510 threading/ connection. Manual Push button batteries
Kgo VV- only comes in 650 mah- I own it and find battery life a problem.

Twist comes in 650, 900 and 1000 mah. Dial very narrow/ smooth and not easy to turn. Voltage numbers very hard to read/ invisible. Button occasionally sticks.

Vision Spinner comes in 400, 650, 900, 1100 and 1300 mah. Wide knurled voltage dial easy to turn and easy to read voltage markings. 1300 mah Spinner is the same size as 1000 Twist.
Both variable voltage PVs above fire from 3.3-4.8 volts.
I owned the Twists and now use them as backups because the dial was hard to turn and I could not clearly see the voltage markings.
1300 Vision Spinner- 113mm or ~4.4 inches long; 16MM WIDE, 2MM WIDER THAN A STANDARD EGO
1100 Vision Spinner- 119mm or ~4.75 inches long
1000 Twist- Length 120mm(4.75")/Diameter 14mm

Advantage of the VV- when stressed and need a stronger hit I can easily and quickly dial up the voltage.

I would prolly recommend either the 3.3 volt JoyTech eGo or the 3.7 volt Riva. They are 1000 mah batteries.

I'll have to spend some time understanding all of this, more involved than I thought and the more i read the more complicated it becomes!.

I just want to keep it as simple as possible starting out

Is the main advantage in an Ego over the 510 the longer battery life?

Also , as a newbie would the automatic be better?

Cheers

Agreed. the biggest problem with new vapers is they choose too quickly and don't realize the setup they buy will be theirs for the next 8-9 months.

That and the power of the vape- realize also many of the simpler and more economic delivery systems are not to be used with the 510 because of the low mah rating. Also 510 will give a much weaker vape.

Also , as a newbie would the automatic be better?
The problem with auto batts is they have an air hole in the battery to activate the firing via inhalation- if juice enters the battery damage can occur. They also have a cutoff switch. Manual batts have a 10 sec cutoff and many of us will "pre fire" the batt for 2 secs before inhaling. Most eventually move up to manual batts.

Hi,

Welcome to ECF!

For a start, pls look at e-Cigs this way:

And then, it might just be wise to proceed step-by-step, from left to right, one type of device at a time. U may skip the first & head straight for the 2nd generation types, the "pen styles", but then there's one just in between... the eRoll, which is a great starter e-Cig device AND which could take u a yr++ to think again of another type.

But QUIT, u should immediately.

All the best!

Hi

On the canvape website there is a Joytech eGo starter kit-Genuine Joyetech eGo-C 2(Upgrade) Starter Kit 650mAh or 1000mAh Black, Stainless, White or Pink.

Would that be similar to the 3.3 volt Joytech eGo you mentioned?

Thanks

eGo 3.3 volt
https://www.canvape.com/category-s/1860.htm

eGo 3.3 or 3.7 volt (they say 4.2 volt BUT most of the time it's at 3.7 volts
https://www.canvape.com/product-p/joyeego.htm

This is the kit you mentioned- has cartridges and atomizers as a tank sysytem and is prone to leaks.
https://www.canvape.com/product-p/joyegockit.htm
If you're going to spend $70 on a kit better to get varible voltage Spinners
https://www.canvape.com/product-p/1300revolver.htm
+ a wall adapter, charger and Vision Vivi Nova tank.
https://www.canvape.com/product-p/egousbr.htm
https://www.canvape.com/product-p/egousbr.htm
https://www.canvape.com/product-p/vivi2.0.htm
Total would be about $65 and you'd have a far superior kit.
Just my opinion cuz you want to be careful with spending too much on a basic starter kit when for about the same $$ you have upgraded to VV which most vapers end up with down the road.

Vision Mini Vivi Nova:
a plastic or metal tank with a wick and element. Contains NO stuffing. The rebuildable clearos come with heads (coil+ wick) that can be cheaply ($1.50) and easily replaced. When the head burns out simply unscrew the old head out and screw in new head- takes 10 secs. My Vivi Nova heads are lasting about 10+ weeks BUT I wash the heads every few days. I've found the Vivi Nova to give the best draw. Been using them for 6+ months. Acidic juices may degrade the plastic tank. You can buy a metal sleeve.
Here's a vid by PB- note he's using the larger 3.5 ml Vivi

Hi

I posted a request for the supplier list but am still waiting for a reply

Regarding Canvape , I registered and then logged in but don't see an option to purchase nic juice

How does that work exactly?

Thanks
