Last night, I was in a rush, switched batteries in my mod, and had a little trouble getting the battery in, but got it in. I've done this more times than I can count. Anyway, got in front of my computer, hit the fire button and it sounded like it always did. Put the drip tip up to my mouth, hit the fire button again, and WOW! Got the shock of my life which woke me up from a terrible dream. The inside of my mouth rooftop got hit with high heat. Thank God, I pull away quickly. Now I usually vape at 30-40 watts, but somehow this thing got turned up to 180 watts! I believe I'm okay, raised my mouth out with salt and water, and when to bed.
Question: Has this happened to anyone else that is reading this, and what was the outcome of it? What did you do and how long did it hurt for.
Thanks

When I got my first Pico I put a tank on it and took a hit. Forgot to check the wattage setting. Turns out Picos arrive set to the maximum, which I think is 80W. I normally vape at 10 to 12 watts. Bit of a shock but it didn't do any damage to my mouth. I've never heard of anyone suffering actual damage from a hot drag other than discomfort, you should be OK.

Did that the other day didn’t lock my wattage after changing batteries mod maxed out at 90 wasn’t overly pleasurable.

I really don’t understand why I see new mod adds going on about 200 W etc. Unless I’m missing something who realy needs that kind of output ? I usually run in the 30-35 range on a sub ohm tank…….. Maybe I’m missing something

Yeah, I have always wondered why such high wattage mods exist as most people never vape that high..... I have a 200 watt mod and I use it with a high power RDA and I usually vape at 70 -100 watts..... But to go any higher than that would be pointless as 100 watts provides plenty enough vapor and flavor.....The human lungs can only hold so much vapor....

I suggest people that have a wattage locking feature on their mods take advantage of it in order to prevent what happened to the OP.

Everybody's different. Thankfully, vape-to-date has supported that concept.

I've been vaping 9-12 watts consistently for 11+ years. Never once have I longed for a smoke.

Others need more power. In some cases, MUCH more power.

To paraphrase Ian Fleming, Vape and Let Vape.
