Hey everyone, like the title says, I've been away from the scene for a while (long while) and haven't kept up with the hundreds of new devices and toppers. That being said, I'm in the market for something new. My Tesla 2 isn't making it through the day with an Aerotank on it.

To kick it off, I'm looking for a few very specific things:

- Good mouth-to-lung inhale. I've been blowing clouds, and I miss the MTL inhale. I miss barely going through any juice, having batteries last forever, and not having to sweep clouds away when I'm at the computer or in the car. Having the option to blow a cloud would be nice, but MTL is my priority.

- Consistent voltage from beginning of the battery, to the end of the battery. My Tesla 2 tapers off after the first hour, and gets worse until I'm holding the button for 10 seconds at a time.

- Friendly size. I don't want to walk around with a massive box in my hand. I loved the size of my Cloupor Mini, and the consistent voltage, but I burned 3 of them up with no real rhyme or reason behind it -- so I quit buying them.

Now, having said that, I've looked at a few devices, and like them, but each has a downside, or I'm not sure if they fit the 3 biggies that I'm looking for.

- Kanger Dripbox. I love bottom feeders, and was sold on this. However, the super low ohms, blowing clouds, and running through a battery in 5 hours has me concerned. Can it be dialed back, raise the ohms, increase the battery life, lengthen the juice life, and use an MTL inhale -- would it make it through an entire day?

- Aspire K2. I started on eGo batteries, and a 600mah with a 2.0ohm tank was bliss for me at 18mg. I could get a full day out of a 600mah battery. I blew through egos like mad, though. Regularly fried their batteries.

- My Tesla 2 with a Nautilus X tank. I've already got the box mod. It's on the bigger size for what I'm comfortable with, and it doesn't hold the same voltage throughout the day, but I already have it. From what I've read and heard about the Nautilus X, this would be my cheapest route. But the voltage is inconsistent. That tends to bug me at the end of the day, when I usually want a consistent vape the most.

So I'm coming to you, ECF community. If you're so kind, and want to spend some of my money for me, I'd love a few suggestions for mods and toppers or even kits that I should be looking at.

TL;DR: MTL is huge for me, consistent voltage from beginning to end is required, and a friendly size is a must. I love bottom feeders, but the device doesn't have to be one.

Thank you in advance for any insight you can lend me!

Have you even considered the impact that the FDA regulations will probably have on the future of vaping? You live in the USA and will certainly feel the impact. What will you do should your regulated mod's processor stop working? What will you do if you can no longer buy replaceable coils for your clearomizer?

To me, the best way to be ready for the vapacolypse is to have a durable mechanical mod and a rebuildable drip atomizer. A dependable mechanical won't have any electronics to fail on you. Being able to build your own coils means you are not dependent upon the uncertain availability of factory made coils. Learn to be self reliant if you wish to be able to vape past 2018.

Personally, I think a Reo Grand, which is a bottom feeding mechanical mod; with a Reomizer (sold at Reomods.com) or some other bottom feeding drip atomizer; is the most fool proof setup for the vapocalypse.

Just my :2c:

How long your 18650 battery will last is dependent upon the resistance coil that you use. My LG HG2 3000mAh 20 amp batteries last me nearly all day of chain vaping. However, I never leave home without at least one spare charged battery with me (that's just common sense). I make 0.6 ohm dual coils in my RDA.

Well i would recommend the wismec presa 100w tc with the smok tvf4micro. Both available @101vape for under $80 with shipping
The presa has great batt life but uses 26650's. Now here comes the part your going to like the tvf4 micro comes with a mtl coil head(1.8ohm) and an adapter for the rca coil head and three different glass tanks

I've got a drawer full of mechanical 14500 and 18650 mods right now. The inconsistent vape I get out of them is why I prefer regulated mods. I enjoy the same vape from beginning, to end.

I've looked at the Reos, especially with a Kick inserted into them a while back, but never pulled the trigger on one. I'll have to look again.

As far as what happens when the FDA comes down, worse comes to worse, I'll nuke the habit. I've cut out worse in my life before. Cutting out a bit of nicotine shouldn't be too bad, I don't think.

I'm comfortable with 1.0 ohm coils, and like the flavor and vapor I get from them. I just gave up on mech mods a while ago because the vape dropped after a few hours.

I'll check it out, Jay73. Bad, I'll look into the Reos again. If I can get some form of consistent vape from them, it may be the direction I take. I ended up buying a Nautilus X here locally, and so far I'm not impressed with it. 1/10th the vapor of my Aerotank, and back to the muted flavor of years past.

My personal favorite setup right now is the Eleaf Pico 75W (small, cheap, good quality build) with HG2 battery (using XTAR charger) and a Kayfun Mini v3 (Tobeco clone) with 30AWG Kanthal and Japanese cotton (1.5 Ohm @ 10W).

Fairly small, easy to work with, reliable, good MTL vape, easy build and fill, and reasonably priced. You could do the whole business for less than $100.

I'm pretty sure you can dial back the DB 160 all the way down to 7 watts. But the point of the DB is to use an atty on there that you can bottom feed. So that's gonna mean building your own coil setups to get the relatively high resistance option you are looking for. Also, it would have to be the 2 battery DB 160 version and the original Kanger DB is an odd fixed wattage kind of thing.

As already pointed out, there are lots of options but several decisions you need to make. For MTL you need very little power. A mod with a single 18650 should get you through the day without issue, and the battery is replaceasble when it can no longer hold a charge. The Pico is quite nice and really small and will fit an atty up to ~22mm. Another possibility is the new Cooflire IV with a replaceable 18650 as well, with the same feature set except having SS TC as well (if you ever want to), but is a bit larger.

Attys for MTL will depend on whether you want premade stock coils or build your own. For stock coils Nautilus and Nautilus accepting coil tanks have long been a standard. There are both the Nauti mini and regular, as well as a Triton mini which will use Nauti coils but has top filling. Another option there is also the Kabuki (authentic or clone) which also takes those coils and, IMO, offers the best flavor. If you're willing to build your own coils, there are several that work for MTL from Kayfun, to new tanks such as the Merlin, the Serpent mini, and the Bellus.

So lots of choices, just some decision by you to narrow things down. Small and pocketable or something a bit bigger? Premade coils or build your own?
