A week ago today I got my new hcigar VT75. Three days later it stopped working. I thought about just exchanging it for another one, but I was leary of getting another one and having the same problems again (see this thread). Now ordinarily I do a lot of research and I will get something that generally gets good user reviews here on this forum. I broke with my normal buying habit and got a new Smok X Cube Ultra. I did not find hardly any mention of this particular model on ECF, but the things I have read on the web intrigued me.
It is a dual 18650 mod and I immediately ordered a pair of Sony VTC batteries. It is rated at 220 watts. Now whether it can attain 220 watts is in question, but I would never need 220 watts, ever. It is extremely easy to set up by using it's bluetooth connection to a smartphone or iPad with the vaping Tour app. I was able to set it up and customise it to my liking in about 5 minutes. If you would rather, you can also set it up through the LCD screen and the buttons on the mod. It also offers OTA firmware upgrades using bluetooth and your smartphone or iPad. If you would rather upgrade via USB, you can do it that way too.
The one thing I really have to get used to is the fire button. Actually it is not a button at all but the entire side panel. To fire you can press the panel at the top, middle or the bottom. The way that I am using it is just by gripping the mod in my hand and squeezing to fire. I kind of like this method.
Of course it offers the usual wire settings such as SS, Ti, Ni, or watts, but there is a feature that had me baffled at first but now it makes perfect sense. It is called drawing effects. You can choose from minimum, soft, normal, hard and max. What this does is changes the amount of preheating that is applied to the coils. If you like a mellow hit then choose minimum or soft. If you prefer a strong throat hit and maximum clouds, then choose hard or max. This works either in TC mode or power mode.
All in all I am very pleased with this new mod. It gives me great flavor and even though I am not a cloud chaser, I do love the voluminous clouds I am getting out of this mod paired with my Geekvape Griffin. I think I have gone through 15-20 ml of juice so far today, I can't seem to put it down.
