Incidentily, I switched from my regular brand a month ago that was costing my $4.80 a pack to an ultra cheap, no-name light brand that cost $2.00. I did this for two reasons, obviously to save money but to also help me to quit. These cheap brands are basically just allowing me to go through the motions because they don't have much flavor. I am so ready for my 901 it's not funny.

Yeah that is old data , just gives a bit of an idea of how extorted the prices are in Canada vs the States . I suppose the offset of public healthcare is a large factor , but alcohol is responsible for a large majority of health care factors . Isn't near as heavily taxed in fact they lowered it a few times in the past couple years . /shrug

My favorite tobacconist is planning to get around the floor tax by replacing it with PVD’s and accessories. She is going to try to get every customer possible to quit smoking and start vaping. Kind of a “screw you” to the Government for rising her taxes so high it may kill her business. If we can get everyone vaping it could be our own Tea party. If very few buy tobacco where would their revenue come from? Personally I don’t think that there will be any political move against vaping simply because if they did it could be seen as a move to help out big tobacco and more importantly PRO Smoking.

If there was a tax revenue drop, I wonder if you would see ads like “Light up to Support America.” or “Uncle Sam wants YOU to keep puffing.” Or just simply a note in each pack that says “Thank You For Smoking – The United States of America”
