I smoked a pack a day for about 15 years. Started vaping over 9 months ago and have no desire whatsoever to smoke.
I've had less than 10 analogs since I started vaping. The majority of them were when I had no equipment. A few of them were to compare smoking to vaping, and the last one was to try a friend's home-made hand rolled analog. Every single one of them was totally disgusting.
For a long time I was annoyed with the 510 carts because they're made of plastic and I had a problem with melting them. I also didn't like the idea of plastic being so close to a heating element anyway.
Then they came out with the 510 cartos, but I wasn't immediately a fan and I switched back to the atty/cart setup. I ran out of attys one day and gave the cartos another shot. I've been hooked on them ever since. My cartos last longer than my attys ever did. I used to clean my attys once a week and they still stopped producing after about 3 or 4 weeks. My cartos last at least a month with no cleaning whatsoever.
My carto refill method is to boil the tips to remove the hard plastic caps and then drop directly onto the fill.
Today I was a little annoyed with a carto that I've only been using for about 2 weeks. To be fair, this was one of the first cartos I ever used so it was slightly used and sat for a few months. I decided to try cleaning it since it was useless to me anyway. WOW! I think it vapes better now than any brand new carto I ever had!
My cleaning method was a taryn spin to remove all liquid inside. I put it in the freezer for a few hours, then I flushed it with 2ml of 80 proof vodka (not even a PGA). I used a PT to heat it up (with the vodka still inside to avoid burning a dry inner wrap). I rinsed it with another 1ml or so of vodka, taryn spinned all the vodka out, and stuck it back in the freezer (dry) for another 20 minutes or so. It's really not as complicated or annoying as it all sounds
I filled the cart with PG (I usually vape VG, but PG mixes better with alcohol) and vaped the cart empty in about 5 minutes all while producing the most glorious plumes of vapor. I then started refilling with VG again and it's performing like a champ.
I'm so glad that I haven't thrown away any of the old cartos. Could you imagine vaping for 10 months with a 5 pack of cartos?
I was so happy with everything that I was inspired to come on here and share my success story.
