So I registered here over a year ago, & read up everything I could before choosing my first e-cig.

With a 27-year, 40-a-day habit, I knew I had to find a permanent quit or it would kill me, & I hoped with everything I had that e-cigs would be my answer. Nothing else was.

I'd tried cold turkey, herbal cigarettes, patches, gum, lozenges, & several rounds each of Zyban & Champix/Chantix. My quits lasted between a couple of days, a few for 3 months, & one of 6 months. I'd go out with friends, have a couple of drinks, think that '1 cigarette will be fine', & so began the backslide to analogs.

I had plenty of reasons & times I should have quit. Throughout pregnancy, having asthma & high blood pressure, a bout of pneumonia, long overseas flights, & a couple of serious operations where I wheeled my IV pole down to the cold hospital grounds -tobacco still had me chained...

I knew I would never stay away from smoking forever, unless I gave up my social life & smoking friends, or found a healthier alternative.

I received my first kit, a KR808, in May last year, & pretty much knew this may be what I was looking for. I had a few 'teething pains', mostly dry skin & a little dehydration (drink more water when you vape!), & a few other things, that looking back, were mostly the usual quit-smoking symptoms. I continued smoking (less & less) for about 3 weeks, then realised that I hadn't had a cigarette for a day or 2....& I didn't feel like one at all.

I ordered from several popular websites, figured out my favourite flavours & flavourings (these also changed as I regained my sense of taste) & have bought a couple of mods along the way. I found exactly what worked for me... I now have 2 favourite e-juice vendors, drip on my mods at work/home, & use V-go KR8s when I go out. My 'not so favourite' juices (& tries of my faves!) are trialled on friends & new converts...everyones tastes are different... & I love that I can maybe help change someone else's life!

So now....it's over a year since my first vape. I DO still have the occasional cigarette. I ALWAYS wanted to be a 'social smoker', but never could. I was having one every 6 weeks or so, & then about 6 weeks ago I bought my first pack in nearly a year...I did smoke them over a couple of weeks, & also placed a very large order for all my favourite vapes. The juices came, the cravings totally went. For me, making sure your favourite flavours are onhand is key :vapor: ...& don't buy a pack, OP 1 or 2 for a try of your spare e-cig :)

$$ wise, I am paying 90% less than analogs.

Healthwise, sooooooooo much better! I don't have high blood pressure anymore, I rarely use my asthma puffer (was daily with analogs), & I was quite amazed at my cardio abilities in the gym (though I was fitter/gyming more back when smoking). I no longer wake up with a hacking cough, I smell & taste better (in both senses lol) & I don't get colds/flu as much as I used to -they disappear much faster too, don't go to my chest. I DO have to drink more water & moisturise regularly, but to me, that's such a small price to pay for freedom!!!:2cool:
