Over-Discharge Issue

I beleive I have over discharged my Orbtronic 18650 2900 mAh protected battery. I took it out of my 3.7v mech tube mod (with vapesafe fuse) when vaper production ceased (did not notice a decrease in vapor prior). Testing the batt on my multimeter gave a reading of 3.09v. Probably didn't activate the protection circuit in the batt which I think kicks in at 2.75v. Have since charged it back up again to full (but took a long time).

Have I done any damage to the battery? Orbtronic is supposed to be good quality.

Im no expert but I think all that might have been done to the battery is that you may have shortened the life of it. It will still perform the same but wont have the usual cycles left in it.

I hope others will be along to shed more light.

Thanks. Hope I haven't shortened the lifecycle of the battery. If so, I'm gonna get rid of my mech mod and stick with a regulated mods.

3.09 volts is fine. You have not damaged your battery. I use a couple of mechanicals and have occasionally taken a battery down to about 2.8 volts. I now have more experience with my AGA T and generally stop using a battery at about 3.6 volts. Don't sweat it, vape happy

I take my batteries that low all the time when I use. 6 or lower. Quite hard to tell at that low of resistance. Your ok. I throw away any batteries I take below 2.9, however, just to be safe
