Hello good people of E Cig Forum!
I have a question for you guys.

I have recently purchased an ipv v2 box mod and I have been really enjoying it. However I made a dumb move last night.

I plugged in my ipv via USB cable to charge it for a bit before I went to bed as I usually do. However I fell asleep while it was still plugged in. When I woke up I freaked out and immediately unplugged it.
I then opened it up and inspected the battery and battery connections. Thankfully nothing was melted.

Unfortunately I do not have a multimeter to measure the voltage of the battery.

Basically my question is could I have potentially damaged my mod? What about the battery?
I don't mind replacing the battery but I don't want to shell out another $100+ dollars for a new ipv.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Dont sweat it. Your battery is fine as long as things seem to be working normaly. Your charging system is supposed to shut down automatically when it reaches full charge.
you could leave it on 24 hours and it should not hurt anything assuming your system does not fail.
Systems have failed hence the safety precaution of never leaving it unattended.
Vape happy you sound safe.

I'm sure everything is fine. You are using a PV with a chipset. It has protections.

But anyone using separate batts and a charger, esp. with a mod that doesn't have circuitry, NEEDS to have a multimeter.

This is why, and it is not to scare anyone, because if you practice safe battery practice, and buy good batts, and don't over-discharge cheap batts and /or overcharge them, you will be FINE

but this is word to the wise here......these batts can do serious damage if not treated respectfully and with knowledge:

Yes, he is using a PV with a Yihi SX330 chip.....it has circuitry with protection.

I am talking more about single batts on a stand a lone charger. :)

And in that case, it depends on the charger. A good charger will properly terminate a battery. A cheapo one probably won't. There are a number of things that have to come together in a perfect storm to have what happened above happen....however, everyone needs to KNOW what those things are.....what the NO NOs are.

A battery suspected of being overcharged should also never be taken directly off the charger and used.

Don't skimp when it comes to batts and charger. You will use them every day, they will serve you.

and remember these approximates:
Resting voltages (no load connected).

4.2V = 100%
4.1V = about 90%
4.0V = about 80%
3.9V = about 60%
3.8V = about 40%
3.7V = about 20%
3.6V = almost empty
below 3.5V = over-discharged or nearing over discharged
