If you don't wanna read my story and just wanna read my question, scroll to the bottom of the post.

Ok, so, I'm a noob looking to buy my first e-cig. Been reading a lot of reviews on this forum, and I must say...i'm really not that much better off than when I was completely ignorant.

At first I was looking to get the Blu, because it's the first one that I saw, and the first one that really got me interested in the idea of e-cigarettes, but then I started looking around, reading reviews, and reading up about the battery life, the issues with the atomizers and such, and it was all just too confusing to me, and I didn't want to deal with all the headache. That, and i didn't like the idea of buying new cartridges every time I needed a fresh carton, cause I've read about how annoying dealing with the Blu shipping is.

So, after looking around a lot, I found the Aqua Vapor Deuce II Classic which is an RN 4081. I've looked at all their kits, and I found they had PCCs available, which is one thing i really liked the idea of from Blu.
I also liked that, with the Deuce II, you are encouraged to use e-liquid to refill them. I really wanted to get clove e-liquid (i miss Djarum Blacks so much T_T), but I didn't want to deal with the pain of doing it with Blu cartridges (i've read up about how to do it, seems like a pain, and wasn't sure how it would affect the atomizer)

The Question:
Now, to the point. I've seen mixed reviews about Aqua Vapor as a company, but I love what I've heard about the RN 4081, so i was wondering If there was a place I could get an RN 4081 starter kit with a PCC, or if I should just get it from Aqua Vapor, ignoring the bad reviews I've heard about them. Oh, also, I really want the black, cause it reminds me of the cloves I used to smoke, so I'd prefer a kit that comes in black.

Unfortunately i'm impatient, so i'm probably gonna go ahead and order from Aqua Vapor if i don't get any suggestions before i'm ready to order (if it sucks, oh well, i still wanna use E-cigs, so i'm not scared of having a bad experience, i'll just try something new next time) but please, help me out if you can :)

Scumpy, I just did a pretty extensive search on the RN 4081 and couldn't find a site selling it under it's model number with a PCC.
I'm not sure why you're so sold on that particular model. It looks a lot like the first one I bought and I only used it for two days before I bought something else.
I don't know how open you are to suggestions of other models but just look at this kit. Joye 510 with PCC
The 510 is the most popular model for starter kits. It has a good track record and this company is highly recommended. This is a kit with a PCC.

Looks like the one I also started with, and immediately ordered the 510. Scumpy, imo, the model you're interested in is not in the same league as the Joye 510, not even close.

You also said you were impatient. Order from Mist's link and you will get unbelievably quick customer service... they have a great reputation w/ ecf members (read their reviews in the ecf Sponsors forum). I placed my order w/ them after 1 pm and my pkg was postmarked that same day.

Good luck and welcome to the ecf family Scumpy!

Jim Davis is pretty much the repository of all knowledge on all things rn4081 around here. He should have a pretty detailed thread on that atty if you search for his name and the atty name.

My experience is that it's a pretty tough little atty. There's a custom mod called the copper that uses them at 6v.

IMO, the downside of the rn4081 with the standard configuration is it's tiny, hard to refill cartridges.

I've got a custom mini bottom fed juice mod made by petercro, and the rn4081 produces a very warm, rich vape in it.

The conventional wisdom is that a new vaper should start with a 510 kit. It's a capable, versatile easy to use vape that can introduce you to vaping without breaking the bank.

I personally think that the mr puffer with a 901 is also a good choice for a newbie. It's also a very capable, affordable, resilient mod that you can throw in a shirt pocket or purse and not have to bother with dripping or refilling carts.

clyde does know what he's talking about. I, actually started with the 901 and prefer it in the mods I now use because of it's superior flavor production. I suggested the 510 because of the stated desire for a PCC with the kit. I've seen 901 kits with a PCC but they're kind of hard to find.

I think in order to get the best e-cig you need to answer a couple questions first.

-Do you want to travel with this? Or do you primarily smoke at home like pipe users?

-How often did you smoke analogs? (i.e. 1-3 packs, rollies etc.)

-What are your reasons for wanting to try e-cigs?

-Will you be unsatisfied unless it feels and hits just like a cigarette?

Going to throw in another vote to get started with the 510. cignot is a great to deal with. Good prices, they've shipped all of my order same-day, and they are quick to respond to questions.

This thread is enlightening. I got my start the same way as others - with a kit that look similar to the one you mentioned. I actually bought two such locally-available kits before I ordered the 510. But I will say that the time between purchasing the first and purchasing the 510 was no more than a week. I was very happy with my choice and wished I had done some research before buying the models I could buy locally.

Instant gratification can be hard to reason with though, but if you are going to be ordering online one way or another, you will get your order with cignot as fast as anywhere else.

Thanks so much for your responses guys, you're helping me out a lot. Just a couple quick questions (i'll put the questions in bold so you don't have to read my long-... post if you don't want to.)

Ok, seems to me a lot of you are suggesting the 510, which is good, cause after I posted last night, I started looking around some more. I was looking on the model specific discussions and saw that the 510 forum had a crazy number of posts compared to the other ones, so I decided to check it out.

Needless to say, after actually looking into the 510, I can see why you all are suggesting it. The only qualm I think I have right now is, I hear a lot of complaints about the Auto batteries, but I really like the idea of the auto batt, and want to be able to try it for myself, so right now i'm looking around for a starter kit that comes with the option of getting one of each type of battery, anyone know of a good place to get a kit like that? If i can't find one, i'll probably just splurge and get extra batteries with my kit, so no biggie.

Now, a lot of you have suggested cignot, but I was looking at their kits, and there just wasn't enough customization options for me. I liked the options for choosing the batteries so I could get Manual and Auto, but there were no options for buying extra batteries with the kit, or extra accessories really (accept for some little bottles of eliquid) and I really don't want regular Marlboro as the prefilled cart flavor. If you ask them (cignot, for those just reading the questions), can they change your prefilled cart flavor to something else, like Menthol?

I was looking at the V4L Vapor King, and wasn't sure if it was a 510 or not, (don't really care, don't want to deal with the cartomizers they come with) however, they (Vapor4life for the bold readers) do have a PCC that I really like, and I was wondering if that PCC would be compatible with a regular 510. Can't post links yet, but its on the Vapor4life website under VaporKing Cases.

Sorry for yet another novel of a post, but i'm really trying to be thorough in my research, and this forum is helping me out a lot.

Let's see, i'm pretty much decided on the 510 right now, but i'll answer your questions just in case you can suggest a better option for me.

Yes, I'm rarely home because of work, social life, hobbies, etc, so i need something very portable, and with a good PCC to keep if running. Rarely home except to sleep, today was my day off, so i took the opportunity to do some researching.

I haven't been smoking that much lately, maybe a half pack a day since I cut back, but i'm getting really stressed out, and I know that if i keep smoking analogs i'll be up to a pack a day again in no time.

I want to try e-cigs because I don't really want to give up smoking, but I really want to be able to exercise more, without having to worry about dizziness or shortness of breath, and for general health reasons.

I'm not too picky about the throat hit, but i want a pretty realistic feeling to start. Hope those were ok answers to your questions, hope you don't think i'm stupid for wanting to smoke e-cigs rather than go through the pain of quitting.

I don't know anything about getting a 510 with an auto battery, but for help with the portability the place I buy from (awesomevapor) sells Joye510 Personal Charger Case and a Universal Car Charger. One of my friends uses a USB Pass Thru (also sold at av) he swears by. These are all sold as separates at av. I don't know about anywhere else.

I have to throw my two cents in for the Joye 510 as well.....as friend sent me a different e-cigarette and it had no "exhale" (if that makes sense) and I NEEDED an exhale in order to quick smoking......I realize now that "exhale" is the amount of vapor your e-cig produces and the Joye 510 is awesome for that.....I ordered from cignot and had everything in 3 days

Just my two cents.
I got the Blu in 5 days. ordered sun got friday. not much vape but i actually like that for vaping where they won't let you. I play poker and they wont let you vape cause it will cause confusion with other patrons of smoking. so i can cup the Blu in my hand, rest my jaw on it and vape, hold it in till vape is gone or since low vape can breate out in my shoulder and no one is the wiser. Cant smoke like a normal cigarette though, after the 3-5th drag it loses it's TH for about 10-20 min but does get me through my fix when needed.

got the 510 for at home and driving when i want both the throat and good vape.

Best of both worlds. love the charging pack with Blu, but can also charge 510 on laptop or in car so really good to go every where. Place where they wont let you vape i use Blu for TH nic fix and and low show vape, and 510 everywhere else.

Good luck to you and all, I'm sure there are other good systems out there, this is just the best combo so far for me. (and only combo since I am so new. lol) Will prob try new or improved down the road but for now "if it ain't broken I ain't fixin it"

If you want to try a cheap 510 they sell no warranty parts very cheap while u order liquid at Tasty Vapor that I just propped for they're customer service

Sorry, one more thing forgot to mention on your post.

Throat Hit is important or you will be going to real cigs/analogs

with just the blu it would fix most of my cravings in the day but still found myself smoking real in morn and after meals, now 4 analogs a day is better than a pack but need that magical feeling to be totally free.

and other than just saving money from real cigs the other real nice thing about e-cigs or Vapor Sticks (is what I like to call them) you only use what you need, no more wasting half or 3/4 cigs which always killed me.

keep vaping
John

I will go against the general opinion on this one, from what I understand, and by looking at your needs I think you may find the SIDESHO from Modern Vapor to your liking, even if it is not a 510 model but a modified M402. It does have a comparable TH to the 510 and the carts hold more liquid, the kit is highly customizable and it does have a PCC.
Just another option for you, In any case, welcome and good luck.

Take a look here.

That was the first 510 I bought. You choose your two batteries. You choose the color of the led, the color of the battery, and whether manual or auto, and you choose the color of your PCC. Is that not just what you are looking for?

Send them an email letting them know what flavor you would like for your two "accessories". I can't speak for them, but I had the same question when I placed my order. They were happy to oblige.

I'm starting to feel like a cignot shill. But really, I have been very happy with them. Email them - they will email you back faster than you expect.

... so right now i'm looking around for a starter kit that comes with the option of getting one of each type of battery, anyone know of a good place to get a kit like that? If i can't find one, i'll probably just splurge and get extra batteries with my kit, so no biggie.
