In March, it was suggested that- as people with a stake in the outcome of this decision- we write letters to the appeals court justices. I thought I'd bring the idea back up again.

Here's the address that I used when I wrote. I haven't received any acknowledgment of my letter, so I don't know if it's correct:

The Honorable Justices Ginsburg, Henderson and Rogers
U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. District
Constitution Avenue, N.W.
Washington DC, 20001

Oregon bans electronic cigarettes
Oregon Attorney General John Kroger on Monday announced a settlement with electronic cigarette maker Smoking Everywhere Inc. and its president, Elico Taieb. It's the second victory for Kroger in his effort to keep Oregon e-cigarette free.

Just so it's clear, the Ags "win" was ONLY with Smoking everywhere and njoy. Other brands/companies are NOT banned at this time and will not be unless the AG brings a lawsuit against them.

According to Bill Godshall, this was a targeted strike on these two companies in retaliation for their federal lawsuit against the FDA.

Not a big surprise there. Most, if not all, of these bans are done out of plain ignorance. It's public health be damned. As long as these politicians get their way. :(

If you read the actual settlement, SmokingEverywhere is forbidden from selling tobacco or pharmaceutical products in Oregon as well. If they are going to say that e-cigarettes are banned, then it would be just as accurate to say that ALL pharmaceutical products and nicotine products have been "banned" as well.
