So I bought a new setup yesterday as I wanted a new tank and for some reason the tanks couldn't fit on my old setup. I bought a ipv d3 with tfv4 mini. I'm so confused and oaerwhelmed by all the different coil material, wattage, tc, vapors tounge and many other aspects.

I was given a tc from a friend. It was my first vape experience. What he didn't tell me was never to use the nickel coil on watt mode. He also didn't explain that the watt and tc mode act separetly. I was switching up between the modes, believing I had to find the sweet spot between temp and wattage! I had no clue!

Yesterday in the vape shop, the owner patiently explained me about these crucial issues. I was very put down hearing I had been inhaling heavy metals for the last week. I hope it won't affect me. Anyhow, I'm now sitting with a new device trying to figure out how to use it properly. And since I would like to try out all of its features, I wonder if any of the coils that come with the tvf4 mini kit is suitable for tc. I find the biggest hurdle in vaping to understand how it all comes together. I feel like you need a degree in physics just in order to vape at times. So, there it was out. Sorry for the wininge but had to pdt it out somewhere. Looking forward to some advice that can heighten my vape experience. Many thanks!

Now you know why I don't bother with all that stuff. ;)

Please read my signature to understand where I'm coming from.
Romano gave you some good coil advice, and you should have no huge problems dialing in your new setup to your liking. All you need is to get the right coils for what you want to do.

I agree with others that the D3 is a bit restrictive for the TFV4. I have the D2 and the TFV4 mini will fire on it, but the two are never attached. I'm a bit unclear on if you picked up the D3 and TFV4 at the same time at a vape shop, but if you did, you might stop back in and see what they will do on upgrading the mod. If not and depending on what all gear you have, having the D3 is not a bad choice to have around with something like an Atlantis or Sub mini in case you need or want a change from the TFV4. That's how I use mine daily.

if you don't feel like doing the research, stick to kanthal coils. if you are interested in getting into TC, do your research and get some Ni, Ti or SS coils. nobody is forcing anyone into getting into TC.

it seems a bit complicated, but it's actually not that bad. you just have to understand that some of these metals can be harmful if heated past their limits.

so far, i've gotten my best TC experience out of stainless steel coils. what's awesome about them is you can use them in TC mode or wattage mode. the others, it is not recommended.

I noticed that, off course after buying. What would be a good tank for the ipv d3?
Actually, that depends on if you like to build coils yourself or not. Seeing you're taking the route of the TFV4 mini, I'd say you're more of a "ready-made" coils, like me most of the time. In such case, one of the tank I really enjoymis the subtank mini, in fact, I like it so much that I already own 5 of them, in different setting (0.5 ohm Kanthal and Ni200 0.15 ohm) and flavors, lol.
But, if I was wrong and you'd like to build your own coils, one of my favorite is the Griffin RTA.
Also, if in the future you want to step up your mod, one of the tanks that I'd recommend using its own coil is the Uwell Crown. But it's like the TFV mini, it needs higher wattage to really shine. Although there will be some that says you can use it on the IPV D3 as well and I won't argue since I have done that with quite a satisfying result but I'd rather put it on my KBOX200 which, by the way, is one of the box mod you might want to look into.

I think the subtank mini as said is probably a good fit for you op ready made coils if you need them and an easy to build rba deck if you choose to do that at a later date. If you want to save a bit of money have a look at fasttech you can save some cash but takes longer to receive it.

Wow! Many thanks for all the help and support :) I'm not into building coils yet. Atm I have more than enough of finding my way in the land of vape ;)
I bought the mod and the tank at the same vape shop on the same day. Find it a bit odd he didn't mention that it really needs more wattage to shine, but he's a businee man. For now I will stick with th ipv3, as I've already blown my budget by far. Will look into the subtank mini for an extra tank. That is the Kanger subtank, right?
Also, its not that I don't want to do research, its just that I get lost in all the specs and get a bit put off since I don't understand as of now;)
Again, I really appreciate the help :)
