I know no one wants to talk about stacked batteries to do 6 volts right now with the recent mod explosions, but, I need something safer than two stacked unprotected CR2's which is what I run in my Super Six. I'm not willing to compromise on 6 volts, I like it, and anything less just doesn't do it for me.

So can you run two protected stacked batteries in the P+ 18650. I want to get away from the unprotected batteries, and wouldn't mind the improved battery capacity.

Thanks,
David

I don't recommend running stacked batteries, to me the risk is too great given the recent reported failures. I imagine if one is going to run two batteries in series, it would seem the AW LIfepo4's, not lithium ions, may be safer. I think the safest of all though is to not stack batteries and just run a booster like the upcoming Kick. Granted it's only ten watts, but i think you'll be surprised what ten watts will do in the PrecisePlus.

So Dave, would you recommend using a 18650 with LR 1.5 Ohm 510 atomizer? Will the protected 18650's from AW safely supply enough current to run these, or do you need unprotected IMR batteries? It might be time for me to just live with a LR atomizer for safety's sake.

Also, is the Kick just a step up transformer with an adjustable voltage regulator on the output? Any idea on when it will be available?

Thanks,
David

Good morning Dj, good to see you back!

I recommend the AW Protected 18650 2600mah (it outperforms the 2900 and 3100mah in my load testing of them), it'll power an LR no problem. The Kick is a drop in adjustable wattage module (use in the P+18650 with a AW IMR 18490). I don't Know if you've seen this thread yet, but there is a wealth of information here:
