came home to find my elder neighbor in shock...

she went to nearby corner store for 2 packs of smokes...

$25.20 later..... she got what she wanted....

and asked me how much 2 pack of e cigs'd cost????

i'm not sure how to calculate the equivalent, somebuddy out there got some numbers??:vapor:

wow, for $25, i can buy a short battery, 30 ml of juice and a pack of 5 cartos (which equals half a pack of analogs??)

30ml of Juice I think works out to about 5-6 packs of analogs? It's been well over 18months since I've smoked so can't remember for sure.

5 cartos should last you a month or more depending on your liquid and how much you vape. With the right liquid, I've had carts last as long as 3 weeks before they drop in performance to the point where they need to be pitched. Some liquids will kill filler carts in a couple days. Stardusts and other filler free cartos seem to handle thicker juices better. And some carts eat juice faster than others

Lighter color and more PG in the liquid will typically keep carts going longer. YMMV

thanks to both of you ~~

i was smoking roll-your-owns from huge 200 g tubs of tobacco

e cigs are saving me between $300 and $350 a month in roll-your-own costs alone

i haven't factored in ashtrays, lighters, clothes with burns, rug burns, and so forth,

including panic purchases at corner stores when i wouldn't have time to roll enough for a night out,

and would have to buy tailor-mades with the really offensive gross pics.

yep, i've invested heavily in vaping, and i think i did the right thing, especially if i have neither the resources or the will to quit at this time. ~

I'd be bloody broke if I still smoked. Cigarettes are just way too expensive now -- I used to spend over $300 a month just for myself on cigarettes. That's ridiculous. Since I make my own juice now I can get away with spending maybe $20 a month, and that includes buying replacement cartos. I could drop that number even lower if I vaped only on rebuildables. :)

If you smoked 1 pack of cigarettes a day, on average you would spend $375 a month on analongs. Now for the e-cig break down.

1 ego C or T kit is around $70-$80
1 30ml bottle of juice on avg is $18.99 (This is the mean between the most expensive and cheapest)

1 bottle of juice is the equivalent to 1 1/2 cartons of cigarettes. 1 bottle of juice lasts about 7 days on avg. (this will vary from vapor to vapor)

I bottle of juice is 12 packs of cigarettes thats $150

ego kit - $70
juice (4bottles)- $78
total of $148 first month

second month

4 bottles of juice - $78
2 atties - $10
total $88

so in 2 months you spend approx $236
in 2 months you spend on analogs $750

You just saved yourself 68.5%

Over a year

Vaping on avg for someone who just buys egos nothing fancy $300 4 kits a year
attys - $240 a year based on 2 attys a month
Juice - $987.48 based on 1 bottle a week

Total $1527.48

Smoking analogs based on a pack a day $12.50 a pack

Total $4562.00

I day of vaping costs about $4 smoking is $12.50

This is based on averages only.

You saved $3034.00 over 1 year and you saved your life

DIY!!!!!....i am new to this but I have done more e-cig reading in the past 30 days ..well anyways I am down with the DIY for the most part and I have made a dozen or so cutom flavors so far and I would say that 7 or 8 of them are going to stayaround for a long time as my wife and I both like them very much!.....her friends seam to like them to as I have been asked over and over to DIY for a FIN (friend in need) lol... I even have a friend that has vaped for almost 2 years and he has asked me to make a 30ml of one of my juices for him!

here is one to wet your whistle lol
I am going to call it PIYA Breakfast at the Canvape booth!....the PIYA thing is a insider for Kevin lol

18mg from the states!

60%PG 40%VG 18mg nic
2.5ml french toast flavor
1.0ml maple syrup
0.5ml brown suger

all Flavor ordered from Canvape.com
nice maple/cinimon toast almost on the way in and a sweet french toast/pastry/something eles I can't put a taste to on the way out!

another fav flavor around here is couch lol as in lounging on the couch watching tv

18mg nic again USA bought!
and also a 60%-40% PG to VG mix
and the 30ml flavor is set at 15% for this one!
2.5ml of vanillia bean ice cream and 2.0ml of mango!
this stuff makes love to your mouth!
the rest.....I'm keeping for now.....going to get a patten on them! lol
vape long and live longer!

I really need to sit down and figure out cost's but I know Im saveing money now that I have found my sweet spot. Used to smoke 2 packs a day now I have a few Reo's. I wait for deals and buy my carto's in bulk as well as mixing my own juice. And buy all my mixing supplies from one place that allways has coupon codes.

Vapeing definetly cost's more for the noob you have to try so many diffrent things and want every new gadget but if you can settle into something that works for you and stay away from all the hype of new things comeing out you can definetly save.

I vape about 3ml/day,so a 30ml would roughly last me 10 days not taking into account spills, liquid left in syringes tips, etc.

Clearos last me a long while,I can stretch them for a month or more and they are $2 to $5 each

Now if a noob would be willing to start right up with something like a Vmax, the initial buy with everything included would amount to less than $200 and last a long time.

Specially if they shop at Canvape \o/

Strangely the cost was and is a huge motivator for not continuing or going back to smoking. I could no longer justify it and recovery times after a coronary caused from the prices alone, were scary. ;)
Vaping is so much easier than the time & effort needed for a tobacco garden. lol

Forgot to add:
Whether vaping large or small, I can't see anyone exceeding $100 a mth for necessities only.

As Northernshrink already mentioned, the biggest challenge for a noob is finding that ADV! Even for some of us veterans, finding that perfect blend is difficult! So, in the first couple of months, a noob may find that they are spending a little more than usual buying different juices just so that they can figure out what works best for them, however, even if you had to double or triple your juice budget for the first few months, you're still saving yourself money (by not smoking) within the first 6 months.

I've only been into vaping for about two months and am just getting started in DIY juices.
So far, I have tried about a dozen flavours (mostly from Juggies) and the one juice I seem to vape the most is a 12mg mix of about 50% Jokesmoke 2.0, 30% DK-Tab and 20% RY4. It is a bit of a strange mix but I seem to be reaching for it the most.

woah, thanks IAN for all that typing ~~ and number crunching

i printed it and showed it to my senior neighbor... she nearly fell over backwards cept her walker saved her LOL :D

when i get paid later this month, i plan to buy some extra batteries and have a little vape party with my senior neighbors...
a sort of tea party, with sample vapes (and those little alcohol wipes) and even clearomizers... i've already got the juice and cartos, just need some hardware.

should be interesting to see what the reaction is... :p

~ puff ~

ps they put bigger, uglier pics on the new cigarette packs and the joke around here is they raised the price of smokes to
pay for the revolting graphics ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

OMG!!! what agreat idea!!...I was just thinking back to 2 years agowhen I had a bad accident...fell 22 feet with a chainsaw ripping into me! long story ...short version three broken ribs, ccracked sternium left ear sewn back on as were baby and ring finger on left hand...blew out both schoulders and broke all for fingers on my right hand with the pointer and middle finger bone actualy coming through the skin and into my palm!!!......well how hard do you think it was to have a smoke in the hospital?.....or on my own for the next 3 months or so for that matter??? ....ya I love my wife to death because she did not miss a beat looking after me and the kids....while there was no money coming in to boot!

I know, I know....bud where are you going with this?
well the damage to my lung on my right side was getting worse by the day due to my cigs and I had pneumonia for over a year and a half on and off...mostly on...I could no longer sleep laying down as I felt like I was drowning..duah I was!
but my mom didn't raise a quiter so I was still smoking my brains out ....besides it was better then the 100's yes 100's of oxys that were PX to me for the pain......well then a great friend let me try his stardust tip on my e-go tank and I was pleased that unlike the e-go tanks it did not shoot liquid into my mouth and actualy worked great for me....thus 20 days today with no smokes for me and my wife!

ok so here is the break down of where I was trying to go with this before I had to tell the world about me...I think that vaping has saved my life and my wifes and I was happy to get a kit for my mom and dad and no cig for 8 days for them now!...also got a half a dozen friends hooked on vaping not on there old habbit and all have gone smoke free for between 2 days(you go Barbie) and well over a week now..(at a boy Joe I knew it would work for you and it's a lot cheaper then the 2pkgs a day you were on hey?) .....now I am on a mission and you have further inspired me ...I am going to get a couple kits together and lend them out to friends and family that are smokers ....with no cost to them!!! and if it works I want them to do the same for someone eles that smokes.....kind of like a pay it forward movement for a healthier world...or at least a healthier
...my neck of the woods!
