Yup not everyone is ONLY addicted to nic - some are also addicted to the MAOI in tobacco cigs. Oddly I find myself less addicted to nic than I supposed, I do need it still, I cant vape on 0 nic stuff, but I find the action of smoking more addictive than i previously knew. I'm lucky I dont 'think' I had a huge dependence on the akaloids but time will tell I guess. I do occasionallly feel a twinge when vaping, the 'hmm whats missing ' twinge, but for ME its not 'gotta have it'. For others they can't quit smoking unless they find a replacement for it, like Snus. It's not in any way a failure, its a difference.
Remember that too much nic isn't good for you either.
(FYI - I didnt quit right off the bat either - took me at least a week and then it was almost a 'oh didnt smoke today' deal - hadnt planned to quit at all, jsut cut down)

Listen to the people who are telling you it is NOT just a matter of getting enough nicotine. It isn't. I've done this two years now and vaped up to 48mg straight. It is not just nicotine. It's tobacco alkaloids. I get mine with daily, regular use of snus, and puffing an occasional pipe.

Yes, I like e-smoking. It fully satisifies the "habit" part of my habit/addiction of 50 years. But a Screwdriver or even the much better eGo can't fully satisify what I and others find missing in the vapor from e-cigs.

Thanks for jumping in on this one TB. I can definitely testify to this. I was vaping 36mg at 6v and still did not get the satisfied feeling that I needed.

i made a good four days vaping before having an analog, and this is what worked for me....i tried to ignore my cravings for those four days, (really hard), and in doingso gave my tastebuds a little time to recover. When I gave in and bought a pack, I was literally disgusted by the taste of the combusted tobacco/chemicals, and threw the pack out!

So my best suggestion would be, try to go as long as possible, (and if it turns into not even needing more analogs great), before having your next cigarette, and hopefully you will get the same results i did! :)

    Best of Luck,
    Philip

I agree with this strategy; it's what I've tried to do though I still like the taste of cigarettes. But I need to avoid them due to COPD. It was very difficult for me to withdraw from all the stuff in cigarettes (nicotine is just ONE ingredient in them out of hundreds). Have gradually reduced my intake to one or two per day. If you don't buy them, you won't smoke them! So you force yourself to unlearn one habit and replace it with another. I'm not saying I'll never smoke another cigarette - I probably will, but will keep it to a bare minimum.

Raising the nic level of my juice didn't work for me either - just made me ill. As I've said, it's not the amount of nicotine, it's the taste and the other properties in tobacco that I'm accustomed to.

I have been Vaping for about a Month now give or take a Day. I went from 2 packs a day down to zero for 11 days, then i picked the anologs up again, Im having about 4 or 5 a day. But I think i might have found something that is helping becauise i havnt had the morning cig yet and I dont feel having one. 1 is not putting any pressure on myself to quit. 2 Is i just noticed this morning that when i vape 2 flavors mix'd that it takes my mind off of cigs because im spending so much time trying to figure out the taste and scent, I dont know if that make sence but when i first started vaping I i was always trying different flavors on one atty then i stopped when i stopped i picked up the anolog. Low and behold i did a mix this morning and i have zero cravings, Also this morning im Vaping 30 mg, But i think it is more of taste and scent thing for me

My husband quit smoking several years ago, he had perhaps a day or so that he sort of wanted a smoke, me I tried then and I tried countless times after. Anxiety was a major problem for me, and I never stopped craving them.
I got the e-cig and it helped a lot because at least I was not trying to give up the oral part of smoking, I vaped high nicotine and still had cravings and anxiety.
I discovered people like TB and hittman in the smokeless forum and ordered snuff. I have not looked back nor have I had any issues with anxiety or cravings. I am vaping 12mg nitotine and I am not vaping as much as I was when I first got the e-cig. I was using it as a constant pacifier then, vaping 36mg non stop. Now it is mostly for pleasure after meals and when relaxing.
You could be one of us who needs the other things that are in tobacco.Swedish snus and nasal snuff both provide these other things.
I know that the e-cig alone is not enough for me.

it took me about 6 weeks to move from cigs to exclusively PVs. I didn't put any pressure on myself. just said, if a want a cig I'll have one. The number of cigs slowly drifted down, and i slowly stopped wanting them. not everyone stops immediately, and some people do need something extra. give yourself some time to get used to the e-cig and find how it works for you. it's about harm reduction - so don't pressure yourself, and remember that every cig avoided is a win.

I understand where you are coming from CES. It took me a few months to completely quit cigarettes and vape only. It was not until I was vaping only for about 8-9 weeks that everything went haywire on me and I knew for sure I was missing something besides the nicotine.
