So I finally had a packaged get seized by CBSA. This package contained 7 x 30ml of ejuice from Mt Baker Vapor. The order was placed on May 6th, received by Canada Customs on the 14th of May, and I just received the notice letter yesterday.

Pretty bummed at the moment, as I have been checking the tracking information daily since the 14th, and was really excited to have some new ejuice heading my way. I had a feeling that it was not going to go through, as I never had any packages stay in customs for so long.

Not sure what the next approach is, as I have never had this happen to me before.

Do I want them to redeliver the package, after CBSA ships it back to Mt Baker Vapor in 4 to 6 weeks? Do I want to drive over the border, and not declare the package when coming back? Its just so much of a hassle that I don't even feel like doing anything about it at this point, and just throwing away the $75USD. You live and you learn I guess.

Just wanted to vent a little :(

RIP my order of:

Hawk Sauce
Thug juice
Guava
Caramel Apple
Cotton Candy
Ecto Cooler
Freckled Lemonade

It sucks so bad, cause my friend received his order a couple of days before I placed my order. I got to sample some of his ejuices, and really liked it.

I can source out the Mt Baker Juices in Canada, but then I'd been ordering from several different vendors, and wont be able to customize my PG/VG ratio, or add any flavor shots.

Sorry to hear about your package being seized Kingzkross. Did it happen happen to get routed through Ville St. Laurent in Quebec?

In January of this year I had a package seized by CBS in Ville St. Laurent (6, 30ml bottles) and just received the same type of letter two weeks ago. I've also received three additional shipments of e-liquid + the replacement package (all from US vendors) since then without any problems. It could just be bad luck with that one shipment, or it could be something with CBS in Quebec as my subsequent packages all came through Mississauga Ontario.

As for your lost e-liquid, I know Dash Vapes in Richmond Hill Ontario sells both the Thug Juice and Hawk Sauce, but both are only available as 50/50 PG/VG mix. Their prices are pretty good ($9.99 for 30ml), but I'm not sure how much shipping is as they're a few blocks from my office and I just pick up in store.

I send my orders to relatives in the states. Then I pick it up when I go over for a few days. After 48 hours you're allowed $800 worth of stuff and they almost always only ask about alcohol and tobacco. If you tell them you have bottle of alcohol, a carton of cigarettes and $200 worth of other stuff, they will always wave you through. And if you DO get caught, you're safe because you weren't smuggling because you declared it. Chances are the customs officer won't know it's banned or even care.

It went through LA, then Vancouver customs. Not sure why it had to go to LA since Bellingham is just an hour away from Vancouver.

Looks like i'll be planning a trip across the border to pickup my order from MBV. Need to find something to do down there for 2days in order to be allowed to bring it back.

One thing I know for sure is that my ejuice will have plenty of time to steep, lol.

Man, you Canadians are just a bunch of hardened criminals.:D

Just think, after Obama and his minions get done with their Deeming Regulations, you won't have to worry about any shipments from the US getting seized.

When I use to order from Heaven Gifts back in 2009 - 2010 and customs was seizing shipments, they always put "toy parts" on their manifests to me, lol.

I also had my first order from MBV seized during the same time frame. Was returned to sender and now is on the way back to MBV. I sent them an email about it and they said once they get the returned package they will email me back about how to send it. I have also had a couple orders from Fuzion vapor get seized this year, one of them was a 0mg Nic order, so no need to seize and return to sender. I have been ordering from the states for well over 3 years and starting this year is the first time I have ever had seized packages. I have also had many orders since come through with no issues all my orders from the states seem to go thru Ville St. Laurent no matter where they come from. Fuzion support was great to deal with and as soon as the package was stuck at the border they resent a replacement, no fuss or questions asked. I will have to see how MBV support will turn out. Their initial reply was basically tough luck.

Make sure you tell MBV about it, if they receive enough story like this, they might want to warn ppl about it or just stop sending to canada so no one else lose money.

I thought canada customs weren't allowed to seize anything but did anyway, in other threads ppl just sent them letter telling them it was illegal to seize it, not sure how the story ended with this tho.

I spoke to MBV about 3 or 4 weeks ago and they told me that while they would ship to me in Vancouver they also said it was not a good idea at this time - no matter how it is labelled. I liked how they didn't BS me and try to push the sale.

That's why I dont really want them to ship it back to me.

By heading across the border, i'll end up spending more money then I intended to. Needing to stay there for 48hrs to legally bring the ejuices back wont be cheap, lol.

You don't need to be over there for 48 hours. That's just to get the $800 exemption. If you go for the day, you can still bring them back, but you risk seizure when (if) you declare it. Most of the time they don't delve too deep into what you have. If you buy a couple hundred bucks worth of groceries (non-taxable) and $50 of "other stuff" they usually just wave you through.

Ok just an update. The package that had 0mg juice from Fuzion Vapor finally got to me. It appeared to be opened, tested for nic content and sealed back up with Health Canada tape.

My other package from MBV was returned to sender. They will resend it one time at no extra cost. I also got a letter from Health Canada on this one which is more detailed then the previous letter, but basically it says the same thing. It says you cannot import a prescription drug unless you are a pharmacist. Then they include the 2009 Health Canada paper with information on 'Risk with Buying Drugs online'.

Hopefully my second attempt will go through. I still plan on ordering from other vendors in the US that I have never had any issues with but will have to forget about Fuzion vapor and MBV. I think they must be looking for vapor in the sender name and are assuming the package needs to be seized and tested.

Thank you for taking the trouble to attempt to describe some of the contents of the correspondence that you received. It's going to be a somewhat standard format letter and worthwhile reproducing here; I'm pretty sure you'll find other interpretations of the letter interesting.

It appears the letters that you got did not mention "nicotine".
It appears one letter that you got mentioned "prescription drug", but did not mention any particular prescription drug.

afaik, nicotine is not a prescription drug otherwise you'd need a prescription to buy cigarettes, wouldn't you?

Perhaps the letters you received mentioned the term "controlled substance" but you didn't think it worth mentioning.

put the juice in your trunk and drive through, why would they search your car? unless you're some kind of sketchy scum bag lol I've never had to declare anything when I've come back to Canada

I've been searched and I have a Nexus card. The computers will flag cars to be searched at random. The trick is to declare it without rousing their suspicion. The last thing you want is to be caught smuggling. You're better off to have it seized.

In Canada nicotine is considered a drug, and it's illegal to import nicotine unless your a doctor a pharmacist etc.

I appreciate your sense here, and we're fighting it from every angle possible, the more the input the better, thanx for trying to help.
