Paint coming off the atty & battery?

Has anyone had the paint crack and bits of it come off of the atty and the battery at the end where they connect together? This happened to my black JoyE 510 within the first week of usage, after a few tiny spills of medium/high-nicotine juice (the kind of spills I'm always getting at that connection point).

I've not had that happen to any batteries but the attomizers that I use all the time get chipped and the paint comes off after a month or so of use. I think the daily wear and tear and cleaning in PGA is what does it to mine.

I've had that happen to all of mine. I ended up switching to titanium batts and attys. Problem solved.

PG acts as a paint remover, and makes the paint come off of your stuff. I am sure the constant heating and cooling doesn't help.

Mine do that a little but it does not change the way they are working...doesn't really matter to me.

Yeah mine did that after I did a polident bath to clean it but it seems to work fine.

just a few minor scratches from everyday use but I take all the paint off of mine when it starts. Doesnt effect the way it performs tho so its all in how you wish for your pv to look.

Take it to Earl Scheib for a $99 paint job.

Yeah, that must be it. The high-nic juices I started out with were from the same box as the 510 and they must've been PG-based (no info. about them in the leaflet). When I finished those I started refilling with my EcoPure (VG-based) juice and the paint chipping stopped in its tracks.

Hope this doesn't happen with the eGo I'll be getting later this year - I'd really like that one in black because it looks so much like a cigar with that silver band around its middle.

The paint eventually peeled off of everything (batteries, cones, and attys). Now I have beautiful stainless steel Tornado's. I don't really care what they look like just that they work well.

Maybe that's why Joyetech makes the eGo rubberized.

I don't know if it's actual rubber, but the Joye eGo battery and cone are "rubbery" to the touch, not paint on metal. It's referred to as a "matte rubberized finish."
