I prefer 30 & 35 amp batteries in all my mods, more useable power. Have heard good things about the Nitecore. I have an Xstar VP1 and a 4 bay Efest LUC. Both have real time volt meters, and the LUC has a usb out. Bought the Efest to charge my 26650 batteries, but will come in handy for charging the S.Max and my DNA30 box mods too.

I've been using (2) Panny NCR18650B 3200/3400 mah batteries with the I4 Nitecore since starting to vape exclusively, and I love it. I'm averaging roughly 2 tanks (22mm xl car to tank) a day; and the battery will last a day and a half. I simply charge/switch batteries overnight; and have plenty of reserve in case I don't make it home until noon the next day. Even on Fridays where my work day runs into a a 4am bar closing, I'm good on a single battery.

To be honest, with both my wife and I sharing the same routine with her own set of Panny batteries, we have never found a need for the 3rd and 4th battery port. This could be helpful for you if you are in a similar situation and would rather save a few bucks on the 2 port model charger.

The only problem I've had with the Nitecore I4 is that the charger connection really doesn't hold the cord in very well.

I used a dab of silicone sealant to basically glue it in.

I was careful not to get any of the silicone goop on the actual metal connectors though.
While that wouldn't be a disaster it could act as an insulator and prevent the electrical current from getting to the charger.

PANASONIC 18650 And I4 Nitecore for the vamo v5 good choice?? just ordered it good choice? please tell me now while I have time to cancel haha

Which Panasonic model? What mod will you be using it in and what kind of juice attachment?

Panasonic makes high quality batteries. Different models are better for different applications:

  • CGR18650CH (IMR/hybrid) 2250mAh 10Amp Good general purpose high-drain battery.

  • NCR18650PF (LiNiCOMnO2) Hybrid 2900mAh 10Amp Great general purpose high-drain battery with high mAh for longer time between charges.

  • NCR18650PD (LiNiCoAl) 2900mAh 10Amp Very similar to the NCR18650PF above

  • NCR18650A 3100mAh 6.8Amp - hybrid battery with the chemistry heavily weighted so that it is literally an ICR battery. Not a high drain battery. Not ideal for regulated variable power mods at higher voltages, this battery is best suited for low drain applications like a flashlight. Could be used in a mechanical mod with standard factory-built coils.

  • NCR18650B 3400mAh 6.8Amp - hybrid battery with the chemistry heavily weighted so that it is literally an ICR battery. Not high drain battery. Not ideal for regulated variable power mods at higher voltages, this battery is best suited for low drain applications like a flashlight. Could be used in a mechanical mod with standard factory-built coils.

There's more to choosing a battery for a mod than just choosing the one with the highest mAh rating.

It's what DFW suggested for my app. Is there any dangers associated with using them that I need to be aware of? I'm using 3ohm coils at around 4.8-5.4v; changing the batteries around 3.4-3.5v. Haven't noticed any bad signs; but would rather be safe than sorry.

Thanks Baditude for the heads up!

Got the Panasonic ncr 18650b 3400mah with vamo v5 any thoughts on that one?

You think I'll have a problem with that Panasonic using factory coils and the vamo?

Probably not. Don't push the voltage/watts in the Vamo and check your batteries for warmth. As I said, this is not the ideal battery for a regulated for reasons detailed here:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/provape/334831-technical-why-high-drain-batteries.html

I'm just providing the technical reasons why a regulated mod will perform better with high drain batteries. There's more to choosing a battery than just buying the one with the highest mAh. If you're spending good money on good batteries, you might as well get the ones that will allow the mod to work as it was designed to.
