Curious if others experience the same ....

I found thru previous use that NRTs, seem to put more nicotine in my system then smoking does?

Probably because I alter smoking behavior to control nicotine intake that more suits me. even though I would normally use 20 cigs per day. Things like less shallow inhales or quit exhales or only taking a few puffs on a cigarette ... things I do without thinking about it ... learned behavior over time.

With NRT use I noticed an increase in panic feelings during withdrawal, or falling nicotine levels.

With vaping, during for the first days of use, mixing with periodic use of cigarettes, say 5 per day, I didn't really notice any difference other than smoking less, no adverse effects.

However, now, I am finding that vaping nicotine, with about the same cigarette use, that feelings of panic/urgency, a sense of increase worry, are increasing. This also seems to occur during withdrawal (falling nicotine levels) and normal use when nicotine levels are topped up. This occurs even with small amounts of vaping (10 puffs or so) at nicotine level 18mg.

This is different from smoking for me, withdrawal (falling nicotine levels) usually either increase frustration or sleepiness ... there was never any "panic" type feelings.

Curious whether others experienced this? And what they did if anything to resolve it.

What nic level are you using? You may be getting too much nicotine, especially if you are still smoking analogs at the same time..... I'd try lowering your nic level. Just my :2c:, I could be wrong but I haven't noticed anything like that. I'm vaping at 18 mgs, zero cigis x 4 months now, and I'm not having any problems (other than an empty bank account and a highly p...off debit card! LOL!)

Using 18mg ... also have 11mg available.

Panic feeling ... feel like you would if you were facing a challenging problem, you don't want to do, and you don't have a solution, convinced it will fail. A sense of impending doom type thing. An anxiety type thing.

Really seems to be related to the nicotine use from vaping. It seems like the vape nicotine is more potent or something. I don't seem to be using much of it, and small amounts could be triggering it.

I wonder if the nicotine is metabolizing caffeine faster and the feelings I'm getting are from caffeine withdrawal. ???

Last night, was rough, waking every two hours for bathroom and heavy sweating .. but I was smoking and vaping that day, ???

Maybe, it's increase caffeine withdrawal?? Hmm? could be, nicotine/caffeine tend to increase memorization of each other.

I would stop using the 18mg, and use the 11mg instead.

Are you saying you're spending MORE money vaping then you did when you smoked??

And I'm smoking 12mg right now and I'm trying not to vape so much, it's just so much more convenient than smoking so I dont want to end up doing it too much

Agreed .. pretty easy to vape too much without thinking about it ... there isn't as much feedback from vaping as there is from smoking in terms of amount used. ---

Agreed ... i noticed that as well .... a lot of inhaled vapor gets absorbed thru lung / mouth tissues. Through that mechanism it can take lot longer to enter the blood stream ... so nicotine will peak AFTER you stop vaping. I guess users will have to get used to waiting a bit for the full effects. I doubt many vapers consider that at first .. I certainly didn't. --- if you vape until "nicotine full" ... there will still be an increase in nicotine for a while after you stop ... giving you more than expected.

Also there is a delay in the nic hitting you with vaping. Some say it takes 15-20 min to get the effect of the nic when vaping. Whereas with smoking we get the hit almost immediately. If this be so, then we newbies have to be careful to not overdo.
Just my 2€

11mg seems to be working a little better for me ... matches the level of nicotine I've been used to.

Seems whether I'm using 18mg or 11mg ... the desire for a few cigarettes is still there, but that part seems to driven mostly by habit or curiosity .. or remembering previous perceived benefits from smoking ... which really are not there if you already have enough nicotine .. from vaping. The extra nicotine didn't really do much for me. To be honest, I think it was the extra buzz from the higher nicotine dose that convinced me it was better.

Curious to know of anyone, are using lower than 11mg to replace smoking, when they are still in the first few weeks of vaping.

Curious as well, from users experience, if anyone found a dosage level of nicotine, more than 0, thru vaping, that doesn't have significant withdrawal. A level you can use without creating a dependency?

When I first looked around for ecigs/supplies it seemed like 18-24mg was the most popular choice for most people. So I went for the low side 18mg. From reading thru this forum, and other sources, it actually seems in practice that most people switch to lower amounts in the 10-12mg range, pretty quickly. Maybe 12mg should be the recommended level for new vapers.

ya i had the same experience using 24mg. i cut it to 12 and it stopped.
