I went to Costco tonight to gas up before heading out to pick up my son and a couple other boys from their basketball game. While I was filling up I scraped some snow and ice from my trunklid since the boys would have a bunch of stuff. I took my constant companion out and, being a Roughstack, used the bottom to chip a little ice - it is a tool for me in every sense of the word. Slipped it back in my coat pocket, finished filling up and headed into the car. As I did, i remember hearing a piece of ice falling, or so I thought.

About three miles into the 20 mile drive to the game, I reached into my pocket and fear came over me. I reached around in the dark, but I knew where it should be. I couldn't go back, I had too far to go and no time, so I called Costco. They walkie-talkied the guy at the gas area and he looked, but no luck. On the way home, I of course went back to search. I felt I still had a 1 in 3 chance that it just wasn't noticed, and if it got run over just more battle scars. The attendant searched everywhere with me, even all the trash containers. No luck. It is gone. To make matters worse, I had also just put in my only AW IMR battery. I'm hoping a smoker picked it up and thus started vaping - trying to find a silver lining.

This was a scratched, chipped and trusted friend. I've got a mini, but it's just not the same. I feel like I just lost my dog.

Thanks for reading, I just had to vent to the only people who would understand. Ironically there was a Maxi RS for sale this morning for only $25 and I was tempted but exercised self control - damn!

If you have a Maxi RS and have moved on, or don't like the top switch, or just want to throw it away(you'd be crazy in my book), I would love to trade some juices and or cartos for one.

In any case, keep an eye on your baby when you go out and about so you don't have to feel my pain. I think I'm going to get a beer to cry in to.

There's always a chance they had dumped the trash earlier, but the building was locked by the time I got back. I might stop by early tomorrow just in case!

Thank you for the condolences - between them and a beer I'll probably make through the long night ahead. Well maybe another beer just to make sure.

Thank you all for your good wishes. I'm heading out in about an hour for one more hunt but I've found great comfort in the little RS, which I'm vaping like a research monkey. I'm thinking eGo batts for the road even though my RS likes to come out and play. Just like any relationship, over time you tend to take it for granted and assume it's forever. You really can't appreciate it until it's gone.
