Parallel coil in a magma?

Soon I will be getting my Magma clone from infinite.
I've been considering trying a parallel coil, but I was wondering if it is a good idea to put that into a magma?
The kanthal I have is 27g and 26g, would it work with that gauge? how do I calculate the ohms for a parallel coil?
what ID should I use, I am considering 2.4 or 3mm. Anyway, I think I need some advice for my first parallel coil, so any help is greatly appreciated

I've been wanting to do something similar. Currently I've been playing around with single coils coming from my usual dual coil sub ohm set ups in an attempt to save on juice and battery life. Do you have some build suggestions, I have a wide variety of guage sizes and wire types. I haven't yet been too impressed with the Magnum, I have the authentic version, but I think that's because usually I get too many dry hits. I've been using my regular wicking style, just enough were there's a slight resistance but the cotton still pulls easily enough through and allow the ends of the wicks to go all the way down to the bottom of the deck with a slight amount over at the end. Is it because of my resistance, my build ohms out at 0.7 on a single coils wrap, I can't currently rem the guage/amount of wraps as I haven't used it for a few days, but your typical kanthal micro coil, 26g I believe, 6 or 7 wraps. Do you have a pick of a good working set up, any advice would be appreciated as I know the Magma was once the "new" next thing in innovation and RDA's and while many have moved on to the "latest and greatest" as I have other new and currently more preferred RDA's, I haven't given up on it as I haven't barely messed with it. Also as I mentioned, I'm looking into different types of build for a diff style of vaping than I've been accustomed to. Any help would be appreciated, TIA!

Why space it?

Besides I don't have any 22awg kanthal so that is not really an option right now, but I will look into buying some. Thanks for you suggestion

There is a thread somewhere on the forum about it, but basically it boils down to a few reasons:
1) Less coil gunking (longer between dry burns)
2) Spaces allow vapour to escape from all along the wick rather than just the two ends
3) Less charring of wick (due to better heat dissipation??)
4) Marginally more surface contact between coil and wick (depending on how you make your wick)

It comes down to personal preference though, so build what you feel comfortable doing.

Hard to mess up a build on the Magma. Parallel 28g, 10/9, 2mmID with RAYON is a killer killer vape for me. Bobas, Trbecca, Custards, "100%" VG all work well in it for about 10mls of smoke juice then they get gunky..Dry burn, rewick for another 5mls or so then new coil....That works for me...

Start simple and work your way up the twisted kanthal chain:)

I actually have another question regarding the magma. Wicking. How should I wick this thing?
Should I just stuff a lot of cotton into the juice well so the juice sits in the cotton and not vice versa?
I want to prevent as much leaking as possible but still get the good flavor and vapor the magma produces.

I use Rayon wicks with thin tails. I don't get leaks but then I don't lay it on its side either. I use it primarily at home, so have it standing upright at most times..

If you want to vape like 'Rip Trippers' (like you are swigging from a hip flask) then fill it up with cotton and it wont leak into your mouth when you turn it upside down.
It does however go against one of the major benefits of the Magma which is the deep juice well, you should just get a small chambered lesser capacity dripper.
Oodles of cotton means a lot of juice wasted (as it is retained by the wick throughout it's length equally).

You will probably want to move the coil(s) closer to the airhole(s) than in Dusty's picture to get the best flavour (as close as you can without it touching the metal deck), the further it is away from the airhole the harsher the vape will be (along with producing less vapour).

uuhh no not like rip tripppers. I thought that looked really dumb actually. I would just be vaping normally.
I can see your point about it going against the benefits. But I will probably be traveling with it, so I won't be doing what I've seen Twisted420 do with an rda with a deep juice well, where he just fills it to the brim with liquid. Even though I am aware that traveling with an rda is not the best, I don't really have much choice. After ordering it, I broke one of the screw posts on the deck of my fogger v4, and I don't really have the money for a new tank this month. I can't find replacement deck.

But I wasn't thinking about just filling the entire juice well up with cotton if that was what you thought, but a decent amount, more cotton than with a microcoil anyway. Preferably an amount in such a fashion that my wicks aren't swimming in a pool of juice. That might go against the purpose of the juice well?.. Now that I think about it, I guess that is what a "well" is, but you never know if it is just some slang or some such other connotation.

There are a couple better options if you want to use something on the go, both can be got pretty cheaply from Fasttech and are top quality...

1) The Big Dripper - Got mine last week (clear window version), no leaking, can just turn the base to block the airholes when you want to put it in your pocket to stop any surplus juice leaking.
The only con to the device is the build deck, it is not the easiest to build on and the airflow is from the side of the coil rather than underneath. Big capacity. Good vapour, adjustable airflow.

2) The Orchid - Had it about a month or so. Fantastic flavour, good(ish) capacity, easy to build on. Does not leak (unless juice level is low and you lean it on its side - vacuum broken when channels are not covered with juice). Love the flavour from the orchid. Great vapour production, good airflow too (non-adjustable).

Big dripper = $10 (around)
Orchid = $9 (around)

I took a look at fasttech as you suggested. I found the big dripper, the products comes with either stainless steel tank or PC for 13 dollars. PC is .... that melts and not being able to see how much liquid is in there with a SS tank is a ..... imo. I looked around for a version with glass tank and I found it. 20 dollars but with a brass centerpost which I have heard can cause some kind of metal poisoning, is that true? If not would that be worth purchasing? here's link $20.66 Big Dripper Style Rebuildable Dripping Tank Atomizer - stainless steel + glass / 22mm dia. / 3.2ml at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
