Pass- Thru - Auto or Manual?

I know with non-pass-thru's manual batteries they are sealed so you don't have to worry about juice leaking in and damaging them. With a pass-thru since there is no battery - so what is the difference between auto and manual pass-thru (other than you have to push a button on one)?

Not all manuals are sealed. A 510 or Ego manual would be sealed. I think manual. And if you plan to use it on computer USB then it has to be a passtrhough with an inline battery (those just charge the battery while you are vaping it) and not one that runs directly off power than you need a 2amp USB to AC adapter for it.

I thought all pass through's still had a battery, with the pass through there so you could charge while vaping?

nope I got one from madvapes thats a 510 and usb power only for 13 bucks

You can get it both ways, with battery or without. I have the eGo passthru with the battery, it's manual, can use it while plugged in or unplugged. Don't know yet if without battery is auto, but I will be getting one tomorrow from a friend then I'll know

However, the passthrough battery delivers the 3.2V whether it is plugged in or not.

The direct passthrough delivers 5V. The LR attys that are great on the ego will fry on the passthrough.

Wow I only paid $34 for my starter kit. 2 batter, 2 attys 5 tanks, 2 chargers. $22 for that seems like a rip off.

I've seen them as low as $16, still you are paying more to have the charging unit in the back of the battery. It's not for everyone. I prefer it myself. I'm seriously looking at this:

I have 3 passthroughs (love them) but I would definitely go manual (read - closed battery) ...... I consider myself a neat person, but sometimes juice just seems to go a-flyin' ...

I'm a highly disorganized slob. I find having a charging cable hanging from my computer, the lighter slot in my car, and my computer at work easier than keeping up with a charger.

I've never ordered from this company and I don't know how much shipping is, but this is a good price for a straight through PT (no inline battery). These are 5 volt devices, so if you get one of these, make sure you have a 2 amp (2000ma) ac to usb converter.
510 Black USB Manual Passthrough

I have one of these and usb converters for both home and auto, but I don't use it much. I'm going to get some 3 ohm topcoils for it, then I'll probably use it more. I use it some with my 2.5 ohm topcoils, but I have to get off the button early in the draw to keep the vapor from getting too hot.

Also, these do not seem to be quality made products. The button can go bad and the wire can break in the cord. I've seen several threads where folks had problems with them. If you get one, be sure and tape the bottom of the hand unit and cord.

Edit. One more thing. These often won't fire with the low ohm duel coils.

It will fry a LR if it does fire. LR isn't recommended above 4.2V.

I'm running a 3ohm boge carto on my redneck passthrough. It hits like a champ compared to my egos with 1.7 resurrectors.
