trouble shooting 801 auto pass thru.

was wondering if something could be done, or perhaps I should call it a day and just return/exchange the thing...

received this about 5 days ago and all was working smoothly - until earlier today.
previously when first plugging in, I'd get the three led flashes. and just puff merrily away. nice looong vaping sessions.
now there's a slight delay, and then the flashes.
after that i get the flashes frequently for no apparent reason.
and only occasionally will the led light while i try to drag on the thing.
I'm not a happy camper - I was getting rather attached to the 801.
although it was tough, I set it down to rest and tried again.
a few times.
I also wiped the contacts.
I even asked it nicely and cooed to it a few times, but - no go.

some other info -
I'm new to this stuff. this is my third week. previous use 510 manual and kr 808d-1
first time with 801 and a pass thru.
no dripping, strictly carts (gotta love those HUGE carts!).
also this 801 w/ pass thru has been getting near constant use.

I'm thinkin' it's just gone before it's time.
what think you?

one more question for you....
would a basic straight (no inline battery) pass thru (not the thick corded puresmoker wonder)
provide the same vape both thru a laptop computer and a kensington K38021US ??
I ask 'cause I didn't feel much of a difference between the two.

Sounds like the electronics in the PT has failed. Could be the autoswitch as well. Send it back for a replacement. Get at least one spare for this very situation.

USB performance on a laptop is not consistant. What I mean is not all laptop usb ports will provide enough power. My HP at home works great.
My dell at work does not, it won't work at all. I get a error message, USB device is drawing too much current, port shut down"

If you get good performance from your laptop, then great keep using it.

I actually did get both auto and manual pass thrus. figured an extra wouldn't hurt.
unfortunately, the manual didn't even last one vaping session - that one is already on it's way back to the vendor.

looks like my love affair with the penstyle will have to wait.
now that I know I like it, perhaps I 'll splurge on a battery or two.
