Passthrough on a laptop?

Hi all....I've read differing posts on whether or not a passthrough will work on a laptop. I'm ready to purchase one....but spend most of my time on my laptop, and was wondering. I've heard that it is too powerful to work in the port.....another place I read said its fine. I have a brand new Toshiba Satellite Laptop and a Joye 510 if that helps. Thank you!!

I've used a 510 PT on my laptop constantly, for a few months, with no problems or signs of a problem.

I bought a travel adapter kit from Target for charging iPhones. The salesman thought it would work for the e-cig PT. It plugs into a wall socket and has a USB port. The output is 5V, 1 Amp. Do you think it will work on a PT and not damage either? Thanks!

My husband often uses his PT with his DS charger, which is a USB wall plug charger and it works fine.
