passthrough questions

I really don't understand the whole passthrough thing. Is a passthrough something used instead of batteries? What are the advantages? I know everyone is like duh.

Yes, that's what a passthrough is. It is plugged in to a USB port for its source of power rather than wearing out your batteries. They tend to be more handy for people who spend much or most of their time at a computer. I don't have an office job, but I do spend a decent amount of time on my computer at home. While I'm at the computer, I use the passthrough. It's also a more consitent source of power, so you always get decent vapor every time.

So, can you plug the passthrough into a wallplug then?

they are a USB device so they plug into your computer but you can get adapters for those to plug it into car lighters and wall outlets I think.

Correct, they do have adapters and quite frankly I think everyone should have one for that 'just in case' that crosses our minds... ya just never know, and they are handy!

If you don't want to plug into your computer like me (mine is an old compaq) get a USB adapter. I got mine from Wal-mart. It plugs in the wall and I plug the passthru into it.

Make sure it is at least 3 1/2 volts and 1000 mA, Mine says 3 1/2 volts 1300mA or 5 volt USB power. Do not ask me what all that means! Some of the guys on here told me what to get and I did..it works!

I had an auto 901 passthry but it sizzled. They say that's normal and it did work fine, but it made me nervous. I got a manual 901 passthru and it works like a dream! (no sizzle, lots of vapor)

Anything that saves battery wear and tear is worth it's weight in gold!

5 volt for a car adapter! I got one of those too..I sure like it for long drives.
