I have a couple of questions about using the X2 as a passthru...assume that that's the only way it is used.

1. If I remember correctly, the X2 fires at 4.2 volts with a full charge, then quickly falls to 3.7 volts and stays there until a few hits before it needs recharging. If it remains plugged in as a passthru, does it always fire at 4.2 volts? I ask because this will help to determine the resistance of coils that I use.

2. Does using an X2 always as a passthru change the longevity (life) of the battery? Will it extend or decrease it's life? This is just because I'm curious.

Thanks

Passthru don't have enough power to run the coils...what it does is recharge the battery, the battery shouldn't drop that fast...if it does something isn't right...however Li Ion just like any battery does have a recharge life cycle...NOT draining Li Ion before recharging lengthens that recharge cycle life ALOT!

You can also get USB bypass rigs for pretty cheap...don't even need a battery, but you need to have a device capable of pushing 5vdc with pretty high current rating

OK, perhaps I should explain. I have VV ego passthrus, but also use Volt X2 batteries as passthrus with a 2 amp wall dongle. I use mostly T2 clearos, since they will fit on both of these. However, my choice of replaceable coil/wicks is usually 1.8 oHms. That's right at the top of the scale at 4.2 volts, but right in the sweet spot at 3.7 volts. So, does anyone know if the X2 stays closer to 4.2 while in passthru mode (assuming normal 5 mil per day usage).

If that's the case, I don't think it stays at full charge when it's in use as a passthrough, unless you're a really light vaper. Even so, I only use my X2 as a passthrough and have never noticed it get as hot as my Spinner dialed up to 4.2-4.3V, even when I first pick it up after it's been sitting there awhile. It's always been at my sweet spot of around 3.7V. I like my batt turned up a little higher when I use the T3, and I still don't like them on my X2 even when it's plugged in. So I'm more inclined to think that it stays more at around 3.7V, based on my experience.

Thanks...that helps a lot. I guess if the end light is out, indicating a full charge, that might be a bit higher, but mostly it's at 3.7v.
