Just got the latest version of the patriot rda and Im loving it. Yeah yeah I know people have differing opinions on this one, but I personally have LOVED every patriot Ive owned - and this one is a big improvement on the earlier ones. Its the clone (sorry America), but comes with pre-drilled 3/32 air holes, delrin insulators, and thumb screws on the posts (for no-muss-no-fuss on the fly tightenings). The top cap slides on nice & smooth - not too tight, not too loose.
I built it up with a 1.3-ohm single coil for the MVP 20W and I wasnt sure what to do about the second air hole - so, I ran a 6-32 tap through the second air hole and plugged it with a short screw. Problem solved! The only weird part is that with both holes open, it makes a perfect whistling sound. Like, perfect perfect. If I had a band, I could toot the darn thing. Pull a little harder on it though and the tone goes away. Lol, not very stealthy in dual-coil mode! But with the second hole plugged there is no whistle, so it's all good.

Ive tried a bunch of other RDAs and always seem to come back to the patriot. And thankfully, this clone doesnt have Made in U.S.A. on it. (seriously, China - if youre going to make something, make it proudly in China!)
This weekend, Ill fill er up with some mt. baker juice so I can have WA and the Patriot working in harmony with each other. Hope the patriot doesnt start to deflate itself lol...
