I would like to add my story if it's not too late.

I would like to gift this to my father in law if my story is chosen.

At the end of January his mother, my husband's grandma, went to the hospital and once there, she was suffering from smoking-related illnesses. After several surgeries and a painful time with a tracheotomy and a respirator, she passed away March 13. Seeing her suffering and dying he decided he has to quit smoking. Being a longtime smoker he knows this won't be easy.

I have been using my e-cig since a week after gma went into the hospital and my father in law has seen my success. Seeing her made me realize I didn't want to die like she was. My father in law has tried my cig and wants to get one, knowing this may be his only chance to quit for good before it's too late for him. He is retired and my mother in law works part time in a retail store, and my sister in law has huge medical bills caused from a rare disease she is suffering from. What that means is he just doesn't have the cash flow to get started right now.

I wish I had something to give him to get him started but I only own my 510 and have no extras. And I work 2 jobs as it is to make ends meet at my house, so I can't afford to get him started, too.

This is one that caught my attention also. I think this is a great idea and you are to be commended for your efforts along with others on this forum. This makes me wonder about an idea. How feasible or would it be possible to set up some sort of "PV bank"? Along with the same idea of "food banks" that are all across the country. Just have everyone with extra stuff, send to a common location or user and then when the hard luck stories come along or if someone has a need the "bank" could supply the need. Possibly a committee might need to be formed to review cases and determine priority of need. Just a thought. Thanks for this great thread!

Well, there is always someone who's got it worse but my hubby & I have had quite a ROUGH year.
It all started on St. Patty's Day of 09, I got laid off I know I was chosen because I had been recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia (chronic pain all over) and missed a lot of work due to doctors appointments.
I am still laid off, my husbands car has broken twice since then and mine is currently out of commission for the second time in 2 months due to a broken turbo (BOTH TIMES)! So, we have shelled out over $3000 to fix cars, not to mention another $10,000 in medical bills.
Our water heater broke and leaked all over our basement in December (cost us $900 to fix/install)
Then, this January, my health took a turn for the worse. I woke up and the right side of my face & right arm/hand were completely numb. Worried that I was either having a stroke or something else in my brain...we rushed to the doc.
After having several tests done, they finally decided that I needed an MRI on my brain to rule out MS.
As you can imagine, we were hoping&Praying for the best....
I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in February (at 26 years old, we are dealing with quite a lot right now)
As I sit here crying, I KNOW it could be MUCH worse, but we might lose our home because the medical bills keep rolling in and just do not have the money to keep up with mortgage.
I am VERY overwhelmed and have been a wreck since the diagnosis. My grandmother on my dad's side, died a slow and painful battle with MS before I was born and I am scared as hell that I will be in a wheelchair before I'm 40. I already walk with a cane on bad days...
SO, although Jon and I were married May 24, 2009..this has been the WORST year of our LIVES & 8 years as a couple.
I try to stay positive but things are tough. I have still not found a job and we are struggling with so many finance issues that my stress level is out of control which only makes the pain worse. I can barely walk somedays....the mix of Fibromyalgia & MS is SO EXTREMELY painful...
WOW, I sound like a Debbie Downer, huh? I know our situation is not the worst it could be.....but I just don't know how much more we can take...
vaping is the only thing that I really look forward to and we haven't been able to afford in months...running low on carts & I have problems refilling but I'm thinking that we will be forced to due to $$.

Contact me,and we will help you out, I prbably have a bit mre than Drozd:wub:

I would like the kit to give to my aunt and uncle. They have reallly bad two years.

My aunts daughter commited suicide in March of 2008. My aunt now has custody of her two grandchildren. She is going through a horrific custody battle with the children's fathers. She will find out results today if they get to keep them.

If all that isn't enough to go throuh her husband, my uncle, found out he has pancreatic cancer last year. He is scheduled for surgery the end of this month after going through months of chemo and radiation. They both smoke ALOT especially now since they are going through all this. I have tried to talk to them about PV's but they just can't afford one right now.

The dr. told my uncle that he HAS to give up smoking and I believe that if he has a PV that he could do that. I really don't think he will give up smoking if he doesn't have an alternative. They have both tried all the other ways to quit but with no success.

They need something very simple to use and that they don't have to put too much thought into. I feel like the kit would be great for them.

If drozd cannot help., contact me, I can

Just wanted to add that you guys really are doing something so amazing and it really is a bigger deal than you realize. Sometimes it takes just one kind act to make a difference. Look how many people have stepped forward wanting to help out just because of your simple idea. I wish more people would "pay it forward" alot less people would have to go without and a lot more people would know what an amazing feeling it is to help someone less fortunate than yourself. With that being said YOU GUYS ROCK!

First of all:
THANKS A MILLION TO ALL OF YOU GIVERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is MOVING to say the least. Amazing is more like it!!!

For those of us following this thread: lets just all try to keep it going. People should tell their stories and mention what they need. Eventually people will hopefully be able to help them by finding them HERE. If the thread gets lost...someone create a new one. I am a social worker and counselor...so maybe its just the tree huger in me but I hope it keeps on going. and I'm not a fan of that movie pay it forward but this is a "pay it forward" worth paying attention to.

For example: I'm sure after another month or two my husband and I will decide there are certain things we have ordered that we really JUST AREN"T GONNA USE. We are still new so still feeling like need to give everything we have a true try. We also have some money crunches right now. UGGGG.

I'm looking forward to paying it forward myself FOR SURE!!! I already have a stack of "maybes"....of course "my girl" that I nominated will be getting some stuff from me first to get her FULLY UP AND RUNNING>>>>THANKS SO MUCH TO YOU TWO WHO SENT STUFF TO GET HER STARTED...and I did get a message from DROZD A THIRD GIVER saying that she was splitting the kit up and that "my girl" was getting "some of the pieces"....so I don't mean to get in you business DRODS by sharing it here but I GOTTA THANK YOU PUBLIC REALLY; AS YOU DESERVE IT!!!!! I think splitting it up is a GREAT IDEA and we are BOTH VERY THANKFUL FOR YOUR GENEROUS GIFT!!! Her Kids are also VERY THANKFUL!!! :) They are very excited!!! Between what all of you have done, she was able to quit yesterday THANKS TO: DMS2009 on "old minis" with some of my juice (she loves the green tea...haha)...and soon she should be up and running with some new supplies from BORN: THANK YOU .... and DROZD!!!! and THANK YOU Nilius for the juice you are donating!!!!!!!! GOOOOO PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!

I will be looking here on this thread for someone who wants the "old minis" once "my girl" gets the new set up. So let me know if you want them it. She may not need it after Mid April MAYBE. Thanks again: DMS2009 for those!!! I gonna keep them going!!! They are great for her to start on (and she got them yesterday morning). She was vaping away every time I saw her and she was doing this really funny/cute/crazy dance that was JUST CRACKING ME UP!!!...and even though we work in a school...she's so slick and psyched that she was doing the dance with only me seeing in a crowded building. She "had her eyes out" and would suddenly stop dancing before anyone else saw her "JAMMING OUT ExCITED"!!! Like a freeze frame. I've never seen her so happy!!!. Quite an actress. SHES PSYCHED!!!

"my girl is set with the donations now!!!!....(if DROZD sends what I think she may be sending.) THANK YOU ALL FOR HELPING MY GOOD FRIEND SAVE HER LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!! She will be on the forum soon (Shes a little shy and new to "forums" in general as am I). She or I will let you know HERE what her user name is.

YOU ROCK!!!! HAPPY KARMA ALL AROUND!!!!!!!!!

ENJOY IN HER SUCCESS AND ALL OF THE SHARING!!!! THIS IS SUCH A HAPPY STORY!!!!!

THANKS A MILLION!!!!

Ok...just to share again..this was not originally my idea..I entered the same sort of "contest" back in Jan that was put on by another private ECF user...and I really want to give credit and thank him and what he did...comparatively, giving away my stuff that I wasn't using was just a pittance...he...well he picked 6 members from their stories at that time and ordered/bought us all our choice of mod..so from what I hear he ordered 4 chucks, 1 Super6, and I don't know what the other one was..
But, here's the short version of my story, and it really does sound like a comedy, no one could have that much bad luck.. Back in March of 2007 my first child was born (this was the high point)....then in june, while at work someone wasn't watching what they were doing and ran over my leg with a piece of heavy machinery (if anyone knows what a grade-all is) resulting in both a tibia and fibia break..so it was down to supporting a family of 4 on workman's comp...the doctor told me I had to quit smoking because he said my leg wouldn't heal properly and if I didn't then there wasn't anything he could/would do for me and would mark the workmans comp as resolved (even though I was still in a cast) and he pushed the chantix perscription on me...that didn't go so well...so Dec 9th I was finally healed and cleared to go back to work... but I wasn't feeling quite right and was getting a new doctor anyway so I had to go in for my initial check up with the new guy...see him on Dec 10th talk to him about how I wasn't feeling right, and he says he's not real sure to go see this other doc (who luckily had an opening the next day)...go to see that guy and matter of fact he says "you've got cancer";go get these couple of tests done and in 3 days you're in for surgery; it's akin to a hernia operation, so you'll be off work for a month, and no lifting more than 10 pounds; afterward I think you'll be able to get by with some radiation therapy; quit smoking and heres a chantix perscription....now, my son was born at the end of march and I got hurt at the beginning of june, we're looking at Feb at least til I can really play with him or pick him up...I work a skilled trade in heavy construction so winter is rough and jobs slim anyway but I was barely scraping by supporting a family of 4 on the little that workmans comp was, I'm going to be healing from surgery for my first christmas with my son, and now faced with unemployment...how easy was it to quit smoking?...lol..surgery goes well..I was still in a daze from even getting the news, I still hadn't processed it..heal up and radiation comes around and I get the lowered immune system talk, and I say that I work heavy construction and I'm really hoping to get back to work...so the oncologist and radiologist laughs and says not in that enviroment while receiving radiation; another month off..*sigh* so finally it's all over, I'm better...march is apprentice school so we're working but not really..that finishes and I work for a couple of months on and off..and then july 4 2008...some kids screwing around with fireworks burn down our appartment complex at 2:30 in the morning we were home and I barely got the fiance and our 2 kids out...so as I sit and watch all our stuff burn to the ground as the sire is spreading over 11 buildings and all I can think is because of what's happened over the past several months I let the renter's insurance lapse because the electric and other bills had to take priority...
Now we gotta find a new place and all new clothes, and I got to get all new work clothes and work tools (and being in a skilled trade, our tools aren't exactly the cheapest (like a minimum of $25 per wrench, and thats the cheapest tool))..not real easy to quit smoking then either...this puts us into August of 2008 and the economy in Ohio hits the building trades HARD.. I had a couple of short 1 or 2 day jobs, longest was a 2 week stretch...so it's back on unemployment...of course going to the union hiring hall daily and just about all the coworkers smoke, so again not the easiest to quit..on and off all the way to this past Nov when I finally look at the fiance and say we're gonna try this e-cig thing, I don't want to smoke around the kids and I want to have enough energy and breath to play with my son..scraped together a weeks worth of cig $, knowing that if it doesn't work well we'd be screwed for a week..we quit analogs the morning our first kit showed up (and yeah we only had enough to get 1 kit to split) and we still have the 1/2 pack on the mantle as a testament to willpower and how helpful the e-cig has been. Since Nov I've been lucky enough to win a couple of contests here and there including that mod one that moved me so...so the stuff that I'm not using, I don't feel right selling..it gets sent on to those that it'll do good and help.

And that's all I have to say about that..
