I've always wanted to see how 18650 batteries are made, so this video was extremely interesting.
I was tickled that PBusardo made a mention of "battery Mooch" at the beginning of the video. I would love for him to interview Mooch in a future segment.
I wasn't surprised when Phil was turned down by a competitor battery manufacturer for a visit. Not only do these manufacturers not want vapers to be using their batteries (because of possible litigation reasons), they are extremely protective of their manufacturing processes. I recall reading about the battery manufacturer lawyers fighting the courts to not release detailed information about their clients' manufacturing process after some batteries exploded and caused a jet to to catch on fire. The companies were afraid their competitors would learn of their manufacturing techniques.
The following article helps explains why battery companies are so competitive and secretive. What you should take away from this article is how legally entrenched batteries actually are. Energy fuels revolutions in technology, and li-ion batteries are exactly the energy which will power our future devices.
