Well the work has begun on my newest mod. Since I no longer need the PCC I decided to put it to better use. The end result should be a very good multipurpose e-cig. It is a tight fit but I believe I will be able to get it all together. I have incorporated the PCC charger with the USB connection so that I will be able to recharge the battery and use it as a pass through.

One hill I have to climb yet is to utilize the leds on the charger board. I have to cut small holes hopefully right above the location on the board. I have attached pics of the progress.

I am assuming that I can run the atomizer parallel to the charger connection to the battery. Any other suggestions?

Guess I failed to make this obvious that I was really asking a question. Should I connect the atomizer directly to the battery? This puts the atomizer and battery in parallel at the charger output. I just want to be sure before I hook it up.

I am not sure if I understand exactly what you mean, but you need a switch for sure, unless you plan on unplugging the atomizer after every draw?

The charger pcb has a USB connection for 5v input. The battery was connected to a circuit that charged the Li-Poly battery. Another circuit on the board was connected to the 510 battery charging connection. I am assuming that the 510 battery connection is current limited and may not supply enough current to run the atomizer. So I am thinking I should connect the atty supply directly to the battery which is in parallel with the Li-Poly charging circuit. I hope I explained that right.

I do plan on putting the on/off switch for the battery and a momentary switch for the atty.

Yes Kevin now I understand, (sorry, sometimes my brain gets stuck until I give it a bump).

Battery to the switch and to the atomizer, bypassing the circuit, unless you want to find a way to supply higher voltage from the circuit, (5.25v if possible as in a USB power supply).

I don't know if the PCC is capable of that, but I would guess not unless it has a booster circuit which would be of no use in a PCC, and anyway, I am not sure what that would do to the battery mAh, probably diminish the time before needing to recharge?

Well I made a lot of progress today. I am going to make another trip to RS to get a set of JS plugs. I don't like connecting a live battery into a project until it is finished and verified safe. I think the version 2 of this mod will be done in a 9volt box. It took too much modifications to the 2AA box. The 9volt box has a little more room also. More work tomorrow.

Your welcome let us known how it turns out . I know you are going to love it. I get about 1 and a half days out of mine before I have to recharge .

Well, version 1.0 has failed to launch. I will need to study and plan a little better next time. I was not able to get enough clearance between the battery and the charging board. The push button switch was also too close to the battery. And of course that was my last box. I'll have to buy more boxes and try again.

Back to the drawing board.

Well, it's finished and it works just like I had planned. I can run it off of the 3.7v 1300mAh LiPo battery, plug in the USB and use it as a passthrougn, or just charge the battery for solo use later. It doesn't fit with any room to spare. If I were to make another one of these I would look for a little bit bigger box.

OK, it isn't very pretty but here it is. I'm not usually this messy, I like them clean and neat.

As you can see, it is really tight in there. The width of the box was just right. I really needed about 1/2" deeper to separate the board from battery and add some cushion padding. But it works well. I just hope it doesn't blow up in my face. lol
