batteries deteriorate through use. The general rule of thumb is that you'll get around 300 or so discharge/recharge cycles before they start losing performance. Your PCC has a battery inside. If you use it as your primary charger it will probably not last very long. When I was using a standard 510 I'd use the wall charger as my primary device. Sometimes I'd go through those little batt's quicker than the single charger could keep up. I used the PCC as a backup charger for those times and kept 3 batteries in rotation that way. So, long story short, use the wall charger whenever possible, use the PCC only when necessary.

Edit: A properly working charger won't overcharge your battery so it's ok to leave batt's on after the light turns green.
