PEG 400 instead of PG

Has anyone tried using PEG 400 instead of PG? I have read this on Wiki:

"PEG 400 (polyethylene glycol 400) is a low molecular weight grade of polyethylene glycol. It is a clear, colorless, viscous liquid. Due in part to its low toxicity, PEG 400 is widely used in a variety of pharmaceutical formulations."

I understand also it is slightly sweet.

Also, are there any others that have been tried (other than VG and PG)?

It's kind of expensive. I just googled and it's app. $100 a gallon.

Totally Wicked sells it as a vape base, as well as mixing it in their commercial e-liquids if you choose. PolyEthylene Glycol-PEG 400. Pharmacopoeia-Grade 60ml

just got some to try for my wife who has a mild allergy to pg. I haven't tried it yet, but I will shortly. I'll report back in a while.

Polyethylene Glycol is the main ingredient in a lot of laxatives. I use Miralax for my 1st grader and it's the only ingredient.

the one used for laxatives is a different molecular weight. higher I think.

I heard PEG was reguared as less safe than PG or VG but I have no idea if thats true and I cant even remember where I read that from. Anyone know anything about this?
