How do I clean my pen style battery? In the directions it says when the light blinks 8 times the battery needs cleaning but doesn't tell how to do it?

Any help appreciated.:)

Are you sure it says it needs to be 'cleaned'?

8 blinks is indicative of one taking too long of a hit. It's a safety built into the unit that shuts the circuit down to protect the atty from overheating. Or it could mean the battery needs a charge.

Reading the Chinglish instructions can be a futile exercise.

MY bad, it says when it continuously blinks for 8 seconds. that it is automatically carrying out the cleaning task. How does it do that?

I am getting some gunk around the connection area any suggestions on how to clean it? I am afraid those little air holes are going to clog-up.

Thanks

Usualy I just take a tissue and wipe the threads plus the other (flat) contact-area's well with it. And if that still leaves a bad connection, I will sparingly use some alcohol to moisten the tissue with. Sparingly, and also 'not when not needed', because alcohol can dissolve glue that gets used in some models.
Hope that helps :)

Everyone keeps talking about air-holes. I cannot find any on my pen-styles, only on the mini that I just bought (and love). Where do I find the little suckers?

this doesn't help when the unit malfunctions, wires break and short out. mine started blinking 8 times and smoke came out around the led. come to find out the atomizer tip where the battery screws in came loose and the wires broke. guess the saftey only works when your drawing on it.

and cheryl, the holes, from what i saw from my busted atomizer, are on the bottom of the atomizer tip that the battery screws into. i see 4 holes in mine, so i assume it's a 4 holer. i wouldn't reccomend accidentally finding out like i did though.

The only air hole I know about in my pen-style is at the bottom where it connects to the battery. I watched the video and it was suggested that you detach the battery and cartridge and blow through the atomizer (from the battery side), leftover nic juice will drain out the cartridge hole then, if you want, you can hold it under hot, hot water and let it sit (cartridge side down) overnight to drain and dry.

There are small slits around the base of the atomizer which allow air to pass in to the atomizing chamber.
Which end is the "base" -- the screw-in end, or the cart end? I looked really closely at both ends, but could not detect any "small slits."

Thanks,

I'm not able to get a good photo of them...They are VERY hard to see but they are there...believe me.

You can verify this by plugging up the center hold and you'll note that you can still draw through the atomizer (at least I can on my 801 atomizers).

Here's a REALLY blurry pic of a small wire (from a sacrificed atomizer) inserted into one of the slits...
