Alright, got the Penelope in mail today. Love the looks. From the vids everything looks so big and easy to assemble, not that im saying it was hard to put together but after some fiddeling i had my coil/wick set up and soon vaping like mad. So here are my questions:

I've tried getting some more airflow (its on my provari) by adjusting the center pin out. Currently sit about 1mm out of the connection.. and not giving me more airflow. (there is a clear space between the provari and the penelope just by looking between them, so nothing here stopping airflow.) Im prolly on max then. Since when air can get to the provaris connection travel to the air holes of the penelope then down up the center pin? Adjusting it then wont matter anyway. Right?

What i experience or hmm what i am trying to stop happening is when i draw for 4-5 secs it feels like its giving me more and more resistance, and when i remove it out of my mouth i can hear a sound like airflow going back into the attie. Like its "missing air pressure" after i take a hit. Maybe this is totally normal but would like to hear from other users.

The 510 connection.. Everything on the penelope semes sturdy buildt. The only worry i have is the threads on the 510 connection. Yeah i know its prolly nothing to worry about and its not nearly the same as a boge.. But ive had my rig roll off the table maybe 20 times with a boge on it, and 5 out of these times the threads on the boge has snapped off. I was looking at this when i connected it today and was thinking.. the more gap i have between the penelope and the provari the bigger risk im having ruining the threads right? Anyone managed to do this?

When you burn a carto it tastes really burned.. For me its not a question at all, you take a hit and instantly "feeeck this is burned. *hits trashcan*". Are the taste of a burned silica wick far off from burning a normal carto? I think i might have burned the wick. My flow control is about 2 turns open on 35% pg juice. And its suddenly a very funny taste to the juice. It also smells funny. Been trying to find a word to describe it but i just keep vaping the funny taste without finding out what it resembles. Maybe a slight rubber/corn taste and smell, the only thing i could think of.

Thx in advance for any comments

I had this happen to my Ody recently...and it wouldn't go away. So I rinsed the coil/wick in hot water while still in its base, soaked up the excess moisture with a towel, gave it a dry burn till all the moisture was gone, refilled, and back to normal.
I guess I didn't keep the wick moist enough...don't know...hasn't happened again. It was different than a normal burn taste though, weird.

Thx for the tip. I tried it, and it worked great :) I didnt want to try and replace the wick. If the wire would have snapped i dont have anything atm to replace it with.

Wish I could help you with the draw. My Penny is on a Provari and the draw is perfect for me, slightly looser than a cig. Keep fiddling once you get more supplies. You'll get it how you like it.

And as for the 510 connection breaking, I'm sure with the right force and angle of impact, it could snap. Might want to be a little more careful about rolling off the table...20 times? :)

Something seems strange about your airflow. I have the Penelope sitting almost flush on top of my Provari and airflow is great. When I had it sitting a bit higher it was way too airy of a draw. It's still very easy draw, like Boges used to be. What size wick did you use? Did you double or triple it? Is the draw better after the dry burn? Maybe you were flooded really bad? If you're still having trouble or run into new ones just post up the details and we'll help.

Hmm weird.. I made a doubble wick. I tried to reasemble it twice in different post positions to see if this makes any impact. I also padded it with a paper towel / blew it out with the juice control all the way down to see if this was the issue. Its like if i dont activate it.. The draw seme nice. When i activate it.. its nice for 2 secs then "clogs".

Yeah 20 times atleast.. The thing is.. i always put it infront of me on the space left on the table between the keyboard and the edge. And i seme to kinda "hit it" with my hands throwing it off the table.

Gonna get my hands on a backup base when they come in stock hehe..

until then i need to change my putting down behaviout or get a neck thing :p

Whoaa, my battery just screamed for replacing.. Better go do some readup on amps draw and resistances.. I always get between 24h-30h on my 18650 batteries. With the wire that came with the Penelope that reads 1.6 ohms vaped on 3.7v gave me 14 hours on a normal day.

a 2 - 2.2 ish coil should give some more hours on the same wattage right?

bigger resistance will give you more vaping time eb. But if you want to have the same vapor then use a thinner wire.
