There's a difference between allergy & sensitivity although neither makes vaping very pleasant when using that particular substance.

But with an actual allergy to the substance you will experience things like a rash or itchiness whereas with sensitivity you won't (unless of course the thing your sensitive to is ON your skin in which case you might develop a rash or itchiness where your skin has been exposed).

With an allergy you will see an increase in symptoms with continued use too. The itchiness/rash might spread & you will start to experience swelling with more continued use.

Only an allergy test can tell you for sure if you have an allergy to it. But you can note your symptoms before hand and get a better idea. If it's just a sensitivity you can often alleviate your symptoms by just decreasing the amount of that substance rather than stopping use of it all together whereas if you have an allergy to it you will need to make major changes.

I have a sensitivity to VG so I had to stop using 100% VG juices & I can only go as high as 30% VG before I start to experience irritation from using it. However I know it's not an allergy because I have never experienced itchiness/rash from it & it doesn't affect me when it's in other products. It was just irritating in my vape juice at that high a level.
