More specifically, newbies that try vaping for the first time. I let a few people at work, all that have smoked cigarettes for years, try my pv and they all coughed right after. First they ask; ' how does this work, do I just push the button?' Then they take a tiny pull and start coughing lol? It's like all of them swallowed the vapor or took a direct lung hit. I don't understand it. I told them to just take a puff the same way you smoke.
I know when I first started vaping, I never coughed like that. It's a 50/50 blend with low nic, it's not like it was some strong hard flavor, either. These people all smoke heavy, too. It's bizzarre.
Its kinda like eating food. You gotta chew it before you swallow it. Instead, you get these people that hold the pv like its a grenade, hold the button for 3 seconds, take a tiny hit and blow out no vapor, then follow it with a cough. Then they watch me do it and I fill the room with vapor in 2 puffs. It's comical.
Am I alone on this? Did you cough your first time? Maybe I'm just too used to it, idk.
Strange stuff, regardless.
Well I see three problems right there.
It's an insult to injury thing for a lot of people who have smoked for years or decades. Combine messed up lungs possibly full of tar and not functioning well, relatively high PG - which is an irritant, and taking it deep into the "insulted" lungs... and that sends many a smoker into worse hacking fits than they ever experienced when smoking. It doesn't work trying to vape the same way they smoked when starting out for a lot of people. I sure as hell couldn't lung inhale when I started.
I was a deep lung inhaler when I smoked and my lungs weren't having any of that when I started vaping. It took me a couple months of controlled vaping to lose the reflex to vape just like I smoked. You can tell them to just take a small mouth hit, but people are going to do what they know and it's hard to just not do an automatic smoking inhale they have been doing on autopilot for a long time.
You were lucky but a lot of us need time for our lungs to clear out before we can take up lung inhaling with vaping. ~> http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/337017-inhalation-technique-e-cigarette.html
