this is the problem.... the wife and i have wanted to quit analogs for a couple years. 6 months ago i did it due to a short hospital stay. just decided it was time to stop. my wife on the other hand continued to smoke but went outside to do so and there for cut back alot. she tried stricktly the cheap e=cigs from a gas station that i have smoked for the past 6 months but they didnt trip her trigger....said they gave her a very dry throat so she went back to analogs and back outside out of respect for me not wanting to be around them.
another problem is she smells of ashtray all the time, even after a shower and brushing teeth....its rough on me, not in a way that makes me want to smoke but just the bad smell. to think i smelled like this for years too!!!!!
i want to get her onto the e-cig. ive ordred an ego-t and some flavored juices that should be here tomorrow. im hoping the flavors will draw her in and get her away from analogs all togather.
im sure others have had this problem too. please tell me your experiences in this matter.

I am sorry no one has responded to you yet ! Congratulations to you for quitting ! That's huge ! I know what you mean about the smell even after shower and all, my DH smokes. It's like in the nose too...just come out of him. All you can do is have things there for her....don't push her....we are human and will balk at that !

So, she should have her stuff by now...how is it going ??

thanks classwife for the comments, i just was figuring maybe nobody had any answers as its sure a hard question. i havent pushed her other than trying to be supportive and give options and she as i said is respectful by going outside to do her thing.
haha, the ego-t was for me and im loving it, its my first e-cig other than my gas station special, lol. one thing i found hard thus far is trying all these juices i have and having a tank set up.

I just want to say hi and congrats on switching! As for your wife, keep trying juices and offering her some. The smell of a good juice may win her over! I dehydrated easily at first too. You simply have to drink more water. I totally understand hating the way someone you love smells from ciggies now, too. It's awful. Hang in there. Maybe someone will have some more ideas if we keep bumping this up to the top!

Homeish now
well, all of a sudden i have 4 ego-t batts..im gonna try to ease her into it soon as her gas station cats are gone. she smokes those in the house and analogs outside.

On the bright side..winter is coming. Colder and nastier it gets the less likely she is going to want to take the cigs outside.
Maybe nature will help out some.
More she uses those ecigs, the more she will not like the taste of cigs.

im hoping thats the case. when it rains...something we didnt get much of this year in oklahoma, she doesnt smoke the analogs. guess i cant complain alot as she has dropped from a pack per day to like 5-6 per day now. think i do best by not bugging on her about it,lol.

I don't have any suggestions for convincing your wife to make the switch. Ultimately, it is her decision. I can relate to the offensive odor, though. I smoked for ten years and I'm sure I smelled bad most of the time. It blows my mind! Current smokers usually don't care too much because they can't smell anything, anyway. Good luck with your own vaping journey. Glad you are here at ECF. Maybe your wife will come around. Does she have a sweet-tooth? If so, I recommend Vape-a-licious juices. I have made a few orders from them recently and have been astounded by how delicious some of their flavors are.

she does have a sweet tooth for sure. i will check them out. her brand forever has been pall mall ultra lights but now she rolls her own. perhaps some kicking flavor would do her good. i have let her try my ego a time or two but she started coughing and didnt take to it but it was regular tobacco flavor.

PG has a tendency to irritate people so that may also be why she is still not completely changed over yet. Pushing her isn't the answer but introducing a different pg/vg mix might be the solution. Oder a bottle of her favorite flavor with more VG than PG and see if her throat clears up. I hope this helps. Good luck to you both and congrats on changing to ecigs.

Most smokers draw directly into the lungs. With an e-cig/PV, that doesn't work well, and will make you cough. Draw into the mouth first, then into the lungs, works better. A lot of times saying "Smoke it like a cigar, not a cigarette" is an easy way to get them to do this, but obviously, if they've never smoked cigars, that may not help.

Meet Me in St Louie Louie
My wife continued to smoke for several months after I started using an e-cig .. I quit analogs the day I started the e-cig ..

Over time, I would try different liquids and pass my PV to her to try them with me .. she finally found a menthol she liked ..

So, I bought another Riva 510 kit and told her it was a spare .. I filled a carto with menthol and left it on the table .. and I would mention things like "You sure could save some money if you quit" .. or "Man, it sure is nice to be able to smell again" .. etc ..

One day, she did not go and buy cigs .. she picked up the PV .. I did not push it, and I don't really say anything to her about it .. women like to make up their own minds ... it's been a month now and so far so good .. we have even been out in the casino / bar and she's not smoked an analog yet ..
