PG causing throat irritation on 3.7v, but is fine on 5v?

I've been vaping for about 3 months now, and I found out early on that my throat is sensitive to strictly PG juices. Fine, I'll stick to 50/50 or all VG, no problem. My friend at work and I started at roughly the same time, and are now moving into making our own juice. He leans towards favoring all PG mixes, so we decided that most of our juices were going to be 50/50 to compromise our differing preferences.

I have been primarily using 2.0ohm boge cartomizers on either a standard 510 battery or a 5v passthrough. I have found that strangely enough, my throat is becoming more irritated with juices that contain PG at 3.7v than 5v. This makes absolutely no sense to me. We test our cartos with a multimeter prior to use, so I don't think this has anything to do with the resistance.

I haven't tested the voltage that I am getting from the batteries or the passthrough, but obviously the passthrough is putting out more power. I am thinking that my throat might be more sensitive to PG at lower temperatures, but I figured I would post on here to see if anyone has had a similar experience.

This Sapskull is very confused.

I am the aforementioned friend. Just tested on the 2ohm and getting a burny taste at 5v. It was mostly gone after adding a bit more 50/50 fruitpunch 18mg. I can verify that the throat hit was bigger at 3.7 than at 5 after this. On 3ohm cartos, I wasn't getting any irritation on 3.7 or 5.0ohm.

BTW, we're both using the SmokTech 5v USB 510 passthrus from MadVapes Smok Tech 5 Volt 510 Manual USB Passthrough

The wall adapters that came with our PVs don't work with our passthrus. I'm reluctant to try the other one I have, which is an Apple USB>AC adapter.

We've been using these with (relatively) little issue for nearly 2 months and I also use mine in my car (which definitely is getting proper power). I'll pull out my multimeter tonight and measure the 510 connection when plugged into my laptop.
