Hi everyone. I have been a member here for a little bit. But have been lurking much longer. I have an eGo-t. Any way I went to hometown pharmacy today to pick up some PG since I was almost out. I asked the pharmacist if she did compounding there and she said yes. So I asked her if I could get some of the flavorings that she uses for the childrens medicines. She didn't seem to happy to do it. I told her what I was using the PG and the flavorings for, but she still didn't want to let me have any. I told her no problem that it was up to her. As she was pouring out my PG, she asked me if I wanted flavoring added to the 180ml that I was buying. I asked what she had and she named off a bunch. She got to Creme de Mint and I said that would work!! Came home added it to 36mg nicotine and a little VG. Needs to be a little stronger but it will work until the mailman brings me my stuff in the mail!! Summer at Leonards Pharmacy rocks!!!! LOL!!!:p:p:p

I was able to get a gallon of PG at my local farm supply store on sale for $11.... score! I've barely touched it. If you're going to be DIY, you may want to check to see if there are any farm supply stores in your area. If not, I believe you can order a gallon online for like $25. I'm sure if you google it you'll find some.

I have a tractor supply here. But it says not for human use on the bottle. Think I will steer clear of that one. But thanks anyway!!

I've used the tractor supply PG. The one that I used came from dow chemical just as 90% of PG you'll get from DIY vendors.
90% PG? And you really want to use it for DIY liquid? Jeez...
Do you know what chemicals are in that 10%? PG should be of USP grade. That is at least 99% pure, not containing heavy metals and other nasty stuff.

No worries old chemist. If everyone is nervous about the tractor supply PG. You can go to the wal-mart pharmacy and they ordered me a pint for $8 or $9 and it got there in 2 days....the pg from wal-mart also essentially said don't use on anything although it said 99.7% usp. I think it's just a "cover your own @&&" warning.

USP grade is what you should get for vaping. It's the ingredient used in all the pharma products including inhalers.

The disclaimers that come with it is warranted since the manufacturer doesn't know how it will be used. For example, it is an ingredient in some cosmetics, but it is diluted and often come with other ingredients that will compensate for it's tendency to soak up water and be an irritant as a result. They just assume that you may be tempted to use it on your skin as is. I am sure that if you drink it, you will have some interesting digestive effect (no really, I DON"T WANT TO KNOW!).

I wouldn't want to use something made for trucks though...the chemical purity is one thing, but the USP grade is an assurance that the stuff is not loaded with bacteria and other little critters.

It's not for trucks, it's used when cattle develop a digestive condition called ketosis. It's mixed with feed to balance the diet because ketosis makes the body burn up fat cells too quickly for nutrition. I don't know how it works once it's ingested, but there it is.

here's some quick reading on it. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1791740/?page=1

Sorry young lady - you cannot proclaim yourself an idiot. If you want it to be official then you have to be awarded an official idiot title by someone else. So far there are no volunteers, therefore you are not an idiot.
Quod erat demonstrandum.
Have a nice evening :)
